My full service tune-ups are $35 which includes adjustment of gears, brakes, check your bearings, on-bike wheel truing, lube where needed, clean and lube chain, clean derailleur, clean bike of grime and rust (if possible) and have your bike riding and looking like new. I will also let you know of any potential problems that you maybe looking at down the road or if something needs to be replaced right away.

I also perform all types of repairs such as wheel, tire and tube replacement, replace chain, cables and so on (parts extra) with reasonable labor costs. I can do it all.

When someone tries to low ball me, I just tell them to try back in a week when I might be truly desperate. If they say other similar bikes/parts are selling for less, I tell them to buy that one and stop bothering me. If you have a reasonable idea of what your item is worth, be patient and don't cave to the first aggressive low-baller who responds. You don't have to remove your post until it's sold. When I respond to a posting on CL, it's because I think the price is reasonable. If you think something is overpriced, begin negotiations in your response, not when someone has opened their door to you w/ the expectation of a sale. As someone once said: "Capitalism is a terrible system, but all the others are so much better." Good luck, bd.

Vintage JC Higgins women's bike (Wicker Park) $60

I have a vintage 50s-ish JC Higgins women's bike, blue, single-speed (pedal backwards to brake), with built-in rack and headlamp (working state unknown; I never tried it). Seat was replaced last year with a nice cushy new one. Tires are in decent shape. Could probably use some grease on the chain. Not in very aesthetic condition (though certainly rideable), but a few hours with some steel wool to knock off the rust and a shiny new paint job would pretty her up. (Or leave as is, enjoy the lack of quick-release anything, and worry less about theft.)

I'll throw in my OnGuard U-lock (with a nifty sliding door to keep rain and snow out of the lock, and keys including one with a built-in flashlight) as I'll have no use for it (and if you haven't got one, I'll toss in my helmet, though it's probably safer for you to get a new one fitted). Pick up near North/Ashland.

I do not have the magnet for the cadence or wheel monitors but this model does have the inputs available if you wish to use them. Includes front wheel stand, trainer unit, cable, special rear skewer (though most skewers also work) and handlebar mount computer/control system. Retails for ~ 450$. Would like to trade for wheelset, maybe a decent group, what have you got?

I have an Araya frame laying in my room. pick it up and it's yours. If no one picks up by the end of wednesday, i'm tossing it away.
Araya makes rims and bike components. but during the 70s they made some frames. There are like, suppose to not be a lot of them around? or whatever.

Um it's a nice metallic blue frame, somewhere about 52-54cm by looking at it, with horizontal dropout. so you can go fixie or single speed if you wantss :]

This frame is too big for my tiny self, and i already have a sexy fixie :]

I ordered this saddle and tried it out but decided it wasn't for me since I didn't need the additional width the 'S' model offers. Unfortunately I couldn't return it because of the scuffing on the rails from where the seat post clamped down. It's a B.17 standard 'S'---meaning for ladies in that it's slightly shorter and wider that the regular B.17. It's great for city riding and touring.

I've already treated with Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative (so it's protected from weathering).

kona paddywagon powdercoated black for sale. in good condition, an every day commuter, only two spots where there is a scratch in the paint, pictures below show that. never crashed or anything like that. stock wheels and cranks, i upgraded them as soon as i got the bike, so the wheels, tires and cranks are practically new. free reload top tube protector to cover up that little scratch on the top tube. comes with race fenders, easy on easy off. upgraded the shitty aluminum stem for a thompsen elite, along with some flat bars, i have the drops somewhere if you want those too, but it wont fit the thompsen (the original stem/bars were oversized). new miche bottom bracket put in after winter, so the BB is smooth like butter, along with the eggbeaters. i can even give you the cleats, but i would recommend getting a fresh pair.

-single speed [looks like a fixed but you don't have to pedal all the time, which is better for your knees and safer]

-coaster brake and hand brake [coaster is the kind where you pedal backwards it brakes, so even in the rain, if the hand brake slips, the coaster wont]

-1970's Raleigh Sportstec

-light purple in color, painted myself last summer and redone last week.

-not perfect condition but it's from the 70s and i got it tuned up pretty frequently to keep it smooth
