AKIRA Bookkeeper / Office Coordinator
AKIRA is a men’s and women’s fashion retailer in Chicago. Starting out in 2002 with one small women’s clothing store, we’ve since expanded to 10 stores and a website.
After being in business for 7 years and growing to over 150 employees, we still feel like we’re just starting out. We’ve learned a lot over the years, we’ve done some good things, and we’ve also made a lot of mistakes. Most importantly, we’re very excited about our future, and together we hope to do great things!

The AKIRA Bookkeeper / Office Coordinator position can be either part-time or full-time and will be responsible for the following:
- A/P and expense bookkeeping
- Payroll administration
- General daily office administrative activities (managing supplies, filing, answering phone, etc.)
Applicants must not necessarily have accounting or payroll experience or background. As long as the candidate is sharp, willing to learn, organized, extremely attentive to detail and great with follow up skills, we will provide all training as needed. Due to the confidential nature of some of the information that will be handled, we absolutely require someone with the highest level of integrity and maturity for this position.
