Fantastic oil painting on canvas. Mural depicting religous processionals, and military skirmishes complete with wounded in hospital tents, all overseen by Saint James. Portrayed on horseback with sabre drawn and surround by angels. The Conquistadores believed St. James helped them to be victorious in their colonization of the new world. He is also associated with Spain and their 8th century victories against the Moors. That's as far as I can get with this piece. Someone more versed in catholicism and world history will certainly draw more from this piece. Signed in what is assumed Arabic. Notice how all the doctors are smoking. Measures 57in wide x 35in tall. .
