If you know about copyright, then you know that is legal to make one copy for yourself. The problem gets more muddled when you consider that each time a copy is made (handmade) it has original components. So if someone is making handmade copies, then each one constitutes an original piece. I am sure there are plenty of people who will disagree with me, but Andy Warhol made a killing out of this interpretation. So do cover bands.
The best trick is to be funny. Parodies and satires are completely, absolutely protected. So all you jokers, keep copying:)
