Ah yes. Death.

It is the great equalizer of us all, isn't it?

No matter how we try to �cheat� death, we all end up in the grave.

It�s a morbid topic I know but one that is very relevant in this day and age. It is especially close to me after last night�s events. You see I got a phone call just a few minuets before I was leaving to go to Wednesday evening bible study. My father had a massive heart attack. My brother called me severely distressed from Texas and I thought for sure my dad was going to die. I haven�t seen my dad in several years and the thought of him dying without me being there to say goodbye and say I love you sent me into shock. I went to church but all I could do was pray and cry. I know I was a mess and distracting others so I left.

I went do to the beach to pray. Suddenly it hit me how quick life goes. The worst part is knowing that my dad is not a Christian, nor is he �born-again�. I don�t know how people can deny God and His Kingdom when they�re getting ready to face it. Do they think just because they don�t believe in it makes it any less real? Try that with gravity sometime. The result is not pretty.

Many people probably face their greatest fear when it comes to death. What�s on the other side? What will it be like? Will death be painful or beautiful? Is there a �literal� heaven and hell? I�ve been trying for years to get people to wake up and face the truth. Sometimes these close calls with death are there for just that reason; to wake us up to the truth. (My dad pulled through and gets ANOTHER chance to get right with God, most don�t. He was lucky. He cheated death, this time.)

There is something on the �other� side.

I don�t fear death. The people who fear death are those that don�t know �where� they�re going when they die. It�s the unknown that terrifies us. It�s the possibility that we were wrong about what we believed on earth. Will hell really be like the scene from �Constantine� or worse? Will there be demons and devils. Could it be possible??

The answer is yes. I�ve been fortunate enough to have had �real-life� experiences with spiritual forces of the �unknown�. I say fortunate because they have solidified my faith even more. I know there are things at work that cannot be seen �here� but will be clearly �visible� when you pass from this life to the next. (remember that scene from �Ghost�) Yes there is an �afterlife�. No you will not be reincarnated but you will be �resurrected�. That�s a whole other post.

Like I said, I don�t fear death because I know with 100% certainty where I�m going when I die.

We are without fear, desiring to be free from the body, and to be with the Lord. 2nd Corinthians 5:8

I know when my spirit is released from this body I�m going home to heaven to be with Jesus but I�m not looking forward to the �transition� from here to there. I don�t like pain. I pray my death will be quick and painless but God is in control of that, not me.

I�ve realized in the last few years that the closer I get to God through Jesus, the farther I get from earth and the things of the earth. I know deep down that this place is not my home nor is it all there is. I hope and pray that many more will awaken out of the madness of this busy life and realize that there is so much more waiting for us there than we could ever achieve or receive here. So many are looking for the applause and the praise of men when the Creator of the Universe is looking to praise you, accept you and welcome you home.

I can only show you the door, you have to make your own choice.

�I am the Way," replied Jesus, "and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.� John 14:6

God made the Way through His Son for us to be with Him. You no longer need to be fearful of death. You can know with 100% assurance where you will go when you die if you follow Gods� plan for salvation. It�s not about religion. It�s about relationship. No church can save you from your sin because Jesus paid for it with His own blood. No priest or preacher, not even the Pope can get you into heaven. There is only one way. Yes it is a �narrow� way.

"Enter through the narrow gate because the gate and road that lead to destruction are wide. Many enter through the wide gate. "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to (eternal) life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:13-14

Are you going to follow the crowd? Most are going the wrong way. You alone will stand for your decision you made in this life. You will have no one to blame for you choices. You can�t blame the hypocrites or fallen preachers. Every person will give account of his or her own life and it�s not connected to any other human being. The choice is simply yours and yours alone. Don�t let your family or your spouse or anyone else stand in your way of heaven. Who cares what they think. We�re talking about eternity here. Does their opinion matter �that� much. I pray not. Eternity is time with no end.

I you want complete confidence of your �afterlife� then it�s really as simple as praying a prayer. Jesus is �the key� that opens the door of heaven. All you have to do is ask.

Pray this simple prayer of faith. �Heavenly Father, I know longer want to fear death. I want to know that I�ll be with You in heaven after I die. I believe by faith alone that Jesus is the key to heaven because You sent Him to die for my sins. Jesus come into my heart and my life now and guide me on my way into new life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and make me a new creation. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus� name I pray. Amen.�

Start with the New Testament and then the other letters. You may not understand it but ask God by faith to teach you about His Son and He will!

I assume paying $99.00 for the triple play. Anyone can easily beat that by researching a few deal sites like Cablesnake.net and bestway24.net Comcast regularly runs deals for new subscribers (i.e anyone who hasn't had an account in the past 90 days), long distance phone deals can be had for under 3 cents per minute or just use your cell, DirecTV and Dish also constantly run deals and the HD is way better than Comcast. It takes a little effort, but I feel it's worth it and cheaper.

The idea that a company as notoriously poor in customer service as Comcast will work harder to keep you if you bundle all of your services with them is a myth. If/when you jump ship, they just consider that part of the churn cycle and move on to the next sucker. In fact, they count on most customers being too lazy or uninformed to change companies; that's why they love bundled services so much. They really have you by the shorthairs then.
