Interested In Languages?
We are seeking individuals interested in participating in an upcoming large-scale project as a Phase 3 Quality Checker. Please note that this is NOT a translation or editing project. You would be brought on as a format reviewer. This work takes place ONSITE in Evanston, IL.
This project would involve checking formatted pages onsite at our formatter in Evanston. It involves comparing English pages to translated, formatted pages of a 2900 page electronics catalog. We would provide you with the necessary training and would require about 15-20 hours per week (billed to actual time, paid by the hour). The compensation rate would be $18.00 per hour. In addition, travel time and mileage would be compensated.
Requirements Include:
-Attention to detail
-Good English communication skills
-Ability to use Adobe Acrobat to insert comments
-Familiarity with languages is a bonus but is not required. Phase 3 checkers generally work on a language that they are not familiar with.
The Phase 3 reviewers should have a laptop with a wireless card, onto which they will download the Phase 2 markup files for checking that changes are made. Phase 3 reviewers are also responsible for checking through the shared questions/missing file for their language on Google Docs, to make sure all the issues have been resolved/implemented. They will need at least Adobe Reader on their laptop, though a full version would be better (just in case there are unresolved issues after the last day of Phase 3 reviewing on-site, so they can provide a PDF markup with final changes).

All interested candidates must submit current resume; also, be sure to mention the years/semesters of any language studies you have completed. Previous language study is preferred but not essential.
