Varsity Tutors is an elite tutoring company providing one-on-one tutoring to students in their homes or other convenient locations. We are experiencing tremendous growth in the Chicago area and seeking an experienced College Consultant to join our team of educational professionals.
Job Description: College Consultant
The College Consultant will provide one-on-one college counseling services to Varsity Tutors high school students. These services include, but are not limited to:
Meeting with parents and students on a regular basis
Selecting courses at the high school level
Monitoring students' ACT/SAT test preparation and scores
Advising parents and students on college selection and application processes
Assistance with college essay writing
Helping Varsity Tutors develop an elite, best-in-Chicago college counseling practice
Qualifications:
Masters degree (Education or College Counseling preferred)
5+ years experience as a high school counselor, college counselor or college consultant
Demonstrated success with advising students in the college entrance process
Knowledge of local and national colleges and universities and their admissions policies
Knowledge of college entrance exams, scoring policies and college entrance standards
Willingness to travel within the Chicagoland area
MS Office Proficiency
This position is part-time 5-10 hours per week with opportunity for growth. We offer a competitive hourly rate between $60-$100+ per hour and the ability to work from your own home!
