Directing an Academic Approach office provides you with a unique opportunity that melds management, teaching, marketing, and customer service skills. As a Director, you will engage in the rewarding, highly personalized teaching programs for which Academic Approach has become renowned. At the same time, you will help grow and steward a successful teaching company whose name is synonymous with excellence, integrity, customer service, and innovation.
We are looking for a motivated, energetic, creative individual to join our team and grow our two Illinois tutoring centers (Downtown Chicago and Northfield, IL). Our Directors perform a variety of tasks, all of which are vital to the continuing growth of our company.
Program & Client Services
Nothing makes us happier than serving our clients successfully. As a Director, you will manage one-on-one tutoring programs by collaborating with parents and students to construct customized programs that yield the results for which Academic Approach is known. You will also work with school administrators and college counselors to arrange, staff, and execute various types of programming, from parents’ night presentations to classroom courses to professional development programs for faculty. Effectively selecting the appropriate instructors to support each program we offer is a key skill required of all Directors.
Representing Services
Our Directors’ commitment to academic achievement makes them the perfect individuals to represent and forge new relationships with families, school administrators, and other individuals who can utilize Academic Approach services. In this role, you will speak to new families about tutoring options, give dynamic presentations at schools, attend regional conferences, and execute marketing initiatives that raise awareness of Academic Approach and the many services we offer.
Instructor Development & Management
We are only as good as our tutors, and our tutors are only as good as their Director. You will hire, train, support, and mold a group of 50-70 talented individuals into a corps of instructors intent on improving the academic lives of all students. It will be your job to screen resumes, interview candidates, and make the ultimate decisions as to who represents both you and Academic Approach in your area.
Office Management
In addition to being educators, our Directors are innovative managers responsible for day-to-day operations and management of in-office personnel. In this capacity, Directors work with staff in the office who support them in their execution of daily tasks. Additionally, Directors interact on a regular basis with senior management to discuss emerging trends in education and new ways for Academic Approach to continue its development into the country’s most respected test preparation company.
