Behavioral Activation Treatment for Major Depression
The Stress and Depression Laboratory (Dr. Jackie Gollan, Director) is conducting a research project to evaluate biomarkers of behavioral activation treatment for adults with depression. Individuals who qualify for and complete the study will receive up to 16 weeks of psychotherapy (no medication) and a total of $390 for their participation.
We seek individuals who:
1) Are experiencing depression or sad mood
2) Are not taking medications for their depression
3) Have no history of or current anxiety symptoms
4) Will pass a drug test
5) Are between ages 18-72 years, unmedicated, right-handed
You will receive 16 weeks of free psychotherapy with a trained clinician.
You will receive $130 for two initial full-day assessment visits, $80 for an assessment at mid-treatment, $130 for two more full-day assessment visits after treatment, and $50 for a final assessment 3 months after your treatment ends.
All assessments take place at either the Northwestern University Asher Depression Center, Department of Psychiatry (4 visits) or the Center for Social Neuroscience at University of Chicago, Department of Psychology (2 visits). All treatment sessions take place at the Northwestern University Asher Depression Center, Department of Psychiatry (16 sessions).
