I've had my own dog care business for seven years. I've done it solo all those years until I hired a fabulous addition about month ago.

Now she needs ACL surgery. Pronto.

So. I need to replace her, pronto.

You must have a crazy, awesome work ethic, because I do. I have taken one sick day in seven years (food poisoning), and worked almost every single holiday, so know that I will expect a lot of you. Also, this job is very physically demanding. Don't think it's a 'walk in the park' that people that have never done it seem to think it is. The majority of dog walkers that start out on their own, don't make it 6 months. But you'll be joining me, so I can make it easier on you, but know that it's HARD WORK. You are out all day, in all weather, all year round. Period. I expect at least an 8 month commitment. These are people's fuzzy children you will responsible for, and, this is my own company that I've built and made successful and I expect you to perform above and beyond to continue to make it the best dog care company around.

That said, there is nothing more rewarding that taking care of these guys all day. You open the door to the sweetest, happy faces, thrilled to see you (well, once they get to know you anyway!), over and over and over all day. You have got to know dogs, some people have a natural ability, some do not, no matter how much they love them. Dogs must be drawn to you. You will make approximately $10-$12/hour, as you will be paid $6/half hour walk. Ideally I'm looking for someone that can also provide boarding in their own home, but it's not a deal breaker. No car required, but you better be prepared to get a workout! We serve about a 10 block radius in Lakeview East (Diversey to almost Addison, Southport to the lake) and you will be expected to get around within that radius from one location to another throughout the day. Again, walkers that perform this way often don't last, that's why every job posting for this kind of position requires a car. I'm asking you to use your judgement. You have to get around. All winter. You will likely have a break or breaks between walks so I lean toward someone that lives right in the area. In other words your schedule for a day could be 9:30/10-2:30 then 3:15-4:30 on any given day. I will do my best to give you a consistent schedule, but we walk based on what people need and client's needs change and clients come and go. I will also be basing your charges on the relationship you have with each of them as well upon meeting them.

Therefore, I'm looking for someone for whom this will be an additional income, or a student that's just looking for a little spending money. Only because I can't promise an exact number of hours. My current 'independent contractor (which is what you will technically be)' has made between $140 and $250 a week, depending on what she can work and how much I need her to take on. I may be able to work with your schedule but will ask you to commit to a set schedule once we have it worked out. I will also definitely need you to be able to cover an entire day (from 9:30-5) at times. This will all be discussed and worked out in interviews.

The Chicago Social Drinking Project

WANTED:
Healthy male and female participants who drink at least twice a week to take part in a research study examining the effects of alcohol and other common substances (i.e., caffeine, antihistamines) on the moods and behaviors of young, adult social drinkers.

WHAT IS IT? :
The Chicago Social Drinking Project is a research project being conducted by Dr. Andrea King at the University of Chicago.

Interested candidates will apply for the study by filling out a brief online survey (link at the bottom of this ad) and participating in a telephone and in-person medical screening (2-2.5 hours) to ensure eligibility.

Eligible participants will complete 2 experimental sessions (each lasting 4-5 hours). At each session, participants will consume a beverage which may contain alcohol, a stimulant, a sedative, or a placebo. Throughout the session, participants will complete questionnaires about their moods and a series of motor tasks (i.e, pegboard, eye tracking).

Additionally, participants will complete a series of follow-up interviews (by mail, online, or over the phone) at quarterly intervals for at least two years following the laboratory sessions.

COMPENSATION:
-$150.00 for finishing 2 experimental sessions
-$25/session for arranging own ride home following session
Additional compensation for follow-up interviews over the next 2 years

Behavioral Activation Treatment for Major Depression

The Stress and Depression Laboratory (Dr. Jackie Gollan, Director) is conducting a research project to evaluate biomarkers of behavioral activation treatment for adults with depression. Individuals who qualify for and complete the study will receive up to 16 weeks of psychotherapy (no medication) and a total of $390 for their participation.

We seek individuals who:

1) Are experiencing depression or sad mood

2) Are not taking medications for their depression

3) Have no history of or current anxiety symptoms

4) Will pass a drug test

5) Are between ages 18-72 years, unmedicated, right-handed

You will receive 16 weeks of free psychotherapy with a trained clinician.

You will receive $130 for two initial full-day assessment visits, $80 for an assessment at mid-treatment, $130 for two more full-day assessment visits after treatment, and $50 for a final assessment 3 months after your treatment ends.

All assessments take place at either the Northwestern University Asher Depression Center, Department of Psychiatry (4 visits) or the Center for Social Neuroscience at University of Chicago, Department of Psychology (2 visits). � Healthy people, normal sleepers ages 18-45 wanted for study of the effects of melatonin or light on the body clock
� Study takes 4 weeks
� 5 consecutive nights spent in the lab, twice during the study

Dog walker needed. We are a small family owned business. Please read the following below.If you meet the following requirements we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for someone who
-Lives in Lakeview, Wrigleyville, or Uptown (if you do not live in these areas please do not apply)
-Looking for part time work
-Is available on the weekends
-Is available holidays (we will pay you extra for holidays)
-Loves pets
-Willing to be a contract employee making $7 a walk to start. After 30 days $8, and after 60 days $9. We do not pay hourly wages or take taxes out of your pay. We will give you a 1099 at the end of the year.
-Willing to make $125 a week with increases as business grows and as your pay goes up.
-Is ok walking dogs rain, sleet, snow, and freezing temperatures.
-Willing to make a 6 month commitment (It isn't fair to our customers to change walkers every week and it also confuses animals to see someone different everyday.)
