Database/Systems Analyst Description:
HeiTech Services is seeking a Database/Systems Analyst with experience developing and maintaining relational databases in Microsoft SQL and Oracle for a full-time on-site assignment in Chicago, Illinois, supporting a client at the Department of Labor.


Job functions include:
• Analyzing program requirements to develop program or administrative systems including the systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology.
• Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
• Developing ad-hoc queries to access program data, extract and prepare data in a variety of electronic formats for end users, and respond effectively to requests for case, trend, or other program information from management staff.
• Using object-oriented programming languages, as well as client and server applications development processes and multimedia and Internet technology, to automate staff functions designed to improve work flow.
• Testing, maintaining, and monitoring program applications and other related systems.
• Training staff and users to work with program applications and other related systems, and, where necessary, provide assistance in solving computer related problems and issues.
• Planning, maintaining, and implementing off-the-shelf technology solutions while working cooperatively with existing on-site technology specialists to coordinate any overlapping activities
• Designing and implementing solutions to enhance contact center capabilities and effectiveness as the contract center progresses in sophistication
• Monitoring system performance on a daily basis
• Identifying and resolve system problems
• Maintenance of information technology systems


Requirements:
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL, Oracle, MS Office, including Word and Excel
• 3 years experience developing and maintaining relational databases in Microsoft SQL and Oracle
• Effective communication both written and orally
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or related area preferred, but not required
• Certifications in Microsoft and/or Oracle is a plus
