A Voice for Illinois: Jacob Meister’s U.S. Senate Campaign
Jacob Meister’s campaign for the United States Senate is looking for interns to help send a new voice for Illinois to Washington. We are offering the opportunity to gain political experience and become part of a campaign team. We have a progressive grassroots campaign with an emphasis on volunteer recruitment.
The campaign is looking for interns across Illinois to get involved with the upcoming primary and will be involved in the following:
• Field organizing and volunteer recruitment
• Coordinating events and efforts with campaign field staff
• Research and communications
• Finance and fundraising (call time with the candidate, event planning)
• Office support (data entry, phones)
Applicants for internship positions should:
• Have a demonstrated interest in Democratic politics
• Possess strong written, oral and organizational skills and a strong academic record and/or be enrolled in a related field of study (e.g. communications, language skills (Spanish, Polish, etc...) political science)
• Engage in voter contact activities and spread the word about Jacob Meister
• Commit through February 2nd
Interns should be able to commit 15 hours weekly. Internships are not paid, but students may be able to earn college credit, depending on their institution. To apply send a cover letter and resume to Katie Eder at katie.eder@meisterforsenate.com.
