As far as location goes, I am pretty open. Suburbs or city. Yes, I know it sounds pretty weird to not care about location when it comes to housing, but my situation is pretty unique. I am in the military and am deploying soon, so this is why I need such a short-term housing situation.
I am 24, male, single, clean, mature, responsible, and respectful. I co-exist with others quite well, and am always considerate. But I am also very laid-back and relaxed. I don't get upset about much, and am "drama-free" so to speak. I don't party, don't have house guests, and always clean up after myself. I don't have many material possessions, so if the room/apartment was unfurnished all I would need to move in is an air mattress, a computer, and some clothes. I don't have much "baggage" so to speak, both literally and figuratively.
It would be great if the room/apartment was cable ready, I spend a lot of time on the computer.
As long as the apartment/room is not in the complete ghetto, or full or roaches, I'm pretty open. I don't demand luxury, just the basics. Close to an El stop would be a big + though.

I design and develop websites, do photographray, and am a singer/songwriter, so I travel A LOT! I am coming back to Chicago for the Month of January. I am booked to perform @ The U.S Beer Co. on Jan 15th, in Milwaukee on the 24th, and at Uncommon Ground on the 31st of January. I have one very well-behaved kitten. He is very sweet and not really mischevious at all. He likes to hang out with me most of the time, so he won't bother you. He's fixed, has shots, etc. I clip his nails regularly and he barely sheds...I bought some lint rollers when I got him and have barely used them, and I wear a lot of black! Anyway, the point is, if you have nice furniture you have nothing to fear from him! And if you've always wanted a kitten but don't want the hassle of raising one, here you go...all the cuteness and none of the work. Obviously if there was a pet deposit I'd take care of that.
As far as practical living stuff, I'm fine with some clutter, as long as we take care of the big things regularly...taking out trash, doing dishes, cleaning the bathroom, etc. Since I keep a normal schedule, some quiet late at night is pretty important. I don't smoke and wouldn't want it in the apartment.
I'm looking at a few areas...Ukrainian Village and Lakeview are my two ideal locations. I'm most concerned with being close to the el and being able to get downtown quickly, since that's my commute.

I've got a one bedroom full of furniture right now; 42" plasma tv, matching TV stand and coffee table, extra long couch, 2 lounge chairs, large computer desk and a queen size bed. Everything I have is dark and modern from Ikea. I don't mind sharing the furniture at all!
