To start off, I'd like to point out that I am looking for a room for a different person. He works a LOT and he needs a place by August 1st. I am his current roommate but his space is being occupied by a couple that moves in August 1st and since he's been all over Chicago, he gave me the go ahead to e-mail people on his behalf.

I'm 28, Female, will be gainfully employed, pretty low-key and easy to get along with. I've been renting for 6 years and have paid rent on time, every single month. I only drink socially, and I don't smoke or do drugs. I would look for the same in a roommate. My own room tends to be cluttered, but I understand the importance of keeping common areas clean. I'm not anal though about the occasional dish left in the sink - I lived with 3 guys this past year and I let a lot of things slide now. I have found myself in a situation that I couldnt even dream up.

I have been staying with my girlfriend for about a year. This past February, I had an accident, and fell on glass, royally screwing up my hand. It needed Surgery, and a ton of rehab. I was unable to work, and didnt for a while. I got positions through agencies, but nothing permanant.

Ive taken a crappy job in Glenview, and gave the GF the rest of my money to help in getting a new apartment for us. My credit is worse than hers, so she signed the lease.

Lo an behold, I got kicked out of her place because, and I swear I am not making this up, a friend of mine saw my ex at his work. The pure mention of this to her was met with punches, swears, and threats. I had to leave. I havent talked to my ex in over 10 years, and my friend didnt even talk to her. She got that jealous, that she started hitting me, and screaming.

I need to find a new place to live.

I litterally have nothing right now. NOTHING. $6 in my pocket as of this writing. I have a job, I have good intentions, but I have no money for deposit.

Most of my belongings are in storage, and they can stay there for all I care.

I need a place to shower, and sleep. That is most important.

I applied for food stamps and have a full link card. I will be willing to spend it on communal food. I dont know what else to offer, since I really have nothing.

I have found kind souls here on Craigslist before, and I am begging someone to help me out. I have slept in my car for the past two nights, and it is looking like a third. Because of her work discounts, my cell phone was under her plan, and yep, you guessed it, she shut it off. So, not only do I not have a home, I dont have a phone. Internet, you ask? I am at a public library.

Please tell me someone out there has a couch that they can let me stay on, or a room that I can rent out once I start getting checks.

I seriously am in a funk that I cannot describe due to this. I was in love with this woman, and I am homeless now because I found out that an ex is still in the area. didnt talk to her, didnt cheat on her, nothing. Just the mention of it.

Doesn't need to be anything fancy... garden and/or furniture would be a bonus, but a completely plain old roof on an industrial building or similar would also be fine.

This is not for a party or anything else that is potentially destructive/disruptive/dangerous. I simply want a quiet private place with a nice view to celebrate a special occasion with my honey.

I am thinking this would be during the first weekend of August - probably either the Friday night or the Sunday night. I would want to be able to access the roof to do a little bit of set-up at some point in the afternoon, so that I can surprise him, and would want private use for probably 2-3 hours or so in the evening.

I need to move to Chicago for an internship anytime after August 15th (that date is flexible though). I am starting the internship the first week in September so a place before then would be great.
