The Chicago office is seeking a HRIS Technical Analyst who will be responsible for developing, configuring, implementing and maintaining HR systems; responsible for creating, enhancing and analyzing complex data metrics and procedures to improve the level of data integrity within the Firm’s HR systems; responsible for testing, configuring, documenting and preparing for system upgrades, enhancements and other backend system developments; will create and run monthly statistical reports as well as ad hoc requests for clients; will consult with other departments to determine their goals and objectives for HR systems; and will provide recommendations for achieving those goals and develop such solutions. Essential job functions include:
Building and Developing System Solutions Firmwide and Cross Functionally
• Assist the HRIS Department: assess, design, develop, implement and maintain HR systems to meet Firm goals;
• Assist the HRIS Department build foundation for HR systems to help functional areas meet their business needs; and
• Assist the HRIS Department develop complex reports that can be accessed through system solutions.
Data Manipulation
• Manipulate data to provide solutions using SQL, SQR, complex formulas, lookup and pivot tables;
• Design and provide solutions to clients and improve data integrity;
• Seek out data discrepancies in HR databases; and
• Create and assist with running standard and ad hoc reports.
System Maintenance
• Work with internal and external clients/vendors to resolve user issues;
• Test, debug and document system enhancements and releases; and
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating the installation and maintenance of systems.
Provide technical support to current users
• Reconfiguration of system to meet Firm goals;
• Upload/download information from/to HR systems;
• Provide end-users with appropriate security access to HR system data;
• Coordinate projects cross-functionally; and
• Provide customer service to all end users.
Task / Procedural Measurements
• Develop and execute tools to measure accuracy and timeliness of procedural changes;
• Coordinate with users and assist in the cleanup of data entry; and
• Identify gaps in training and/or documentation when data entry is inaccurate.
Communicating and Training
• Listen to the needs and objectives from end users to help recommend and create solutions;
• Create and maintain project documentation; and
• Notify HRIS team and end users of current and upcoming system developments.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and understanding of PeopleSoft 8.9 database structure with strong skills in analyzing and manipulating data. This person must have a proven track record of maintaining confidentiality, multi-tasking, meeting strict deadlines, problem solving, communicating with all audiences and must be able to work well under pressure. Technical experience must include 3-5 years of SQL, PeopleSoft’s Application Designer, PeopleTools and People Code as well as MS Excel, MS Access and MS Word. HR experience a plus.
