My philosophy for LSAT prep is fairly simple.

Students make the most possible improvement by intensively practicing the material and getting one-on-one expert attention from a tutor who can identify a students' weaknesses and strengths, and then teach specific remedies for the weaknesses. Those remedies include timing skills, analytical skills, reading skills, and a sound education in logical reasoning. We'll work together on actual, official LSAT questions to understand:

1. the structure of the exam;
2. the timing of the exam - this is just as important as substantive knowledge of the question types!
3. the most efficient and effective approach to answering the different types of LSAT questions;
4. How to arrive at the test center with confidence on exam day.

Hello Everyone, As the title states, I'm a real B-boy and have been practicing the Art of Breakin for over 12 years. I am ready yet eager to start teaching and pass on my knowledge of this dance. I teach every aspect of "Breakin" including: Top rock, Floor rock, Power Moves, Freezes, and basic move combinations.
Lessons can be taught at any location you would like. I am open to coming to your spot to teach or you can come to mine and very willing to travel to the burbs.I feel that 1 on 1 dance lessons are better simply due to the fact that I can set my own schedule with you.

Here is my schedule. Keep in mind that I am very flexible and can squeeze you in during times that are not listed.

Monday Wednesday and Friday: 12pm-10pm

Saturday and Sunday: 9am-9pm or later.

Tues and Thurs are strictly dedicated to school. How ever, I am able to squeeze an hour or so in those days if needed.

All ages are welcome and it's $20 an hour for 1 on 1 lessons. Prices are negotiable (FIRST LESSON IS FREE TO THOSE WHO ARE SERIOUS ABOUT LEARNING)

So many of the things we already know are simply expressed through the language of Mathematics. That,s my job, to teach how to write what you already have experienced. You'll no longer have to memorize a whole book to take the final. The Math Anxiety will be gone! Imagine, in just a few weeks you too will be understanding and doing higher lever math. Yes, Calculus! It's even been done with 5th and 6th graders. For the younger kids, or should I say for all of us, how about those fractions, decimals and percents. All those rules to remember. How about developing the physical meaning first and then develop your own rules. How many times have we all forgotten a rule on the quiz or test. Then we start changing things and we get almost all of them wrong. Or, we learn the mechanics and then we're asked a word problem and we are clueless. It's time to "Connect"!. Most recently took a failing Geometry student and in "Only 3 Weeks / 5 Sessions" the student received an 84% on their final exam, and now, in a total of 5 weeks, doing "A" work! Another student had failed AP Calculus, and with only 6 weeks remaining before the Advanced Placement Test we were able to fill in the gaps and achieve a Perfect "5". �The first time I did any formalized training was with Jon-Michael and he introduced me to a program that would improve my strength, cardio and target my mid-section. Jon-Michael's plan was to increase strength by using my own body weight through exercises such as push ups, pull ups, chin ups, dips and later introducing dumbbells. What will we sew?
There will be two types of classes. One for people who have never worked on a sewing machine before (sewing 1) and one for intermediate and advanced sewers (sewing 2)

These classes are designed to help take your creative ideas in design and sewing to the next level. Since all students are at a different level each person will be working on something different. We will access your level of skill on the first day with a small project.

Maybe you want to learn how to make cocktail dress? Maybe you want to learn how to make pillows for the house. Maybe you want to make a fancy dress? Perhaps couture? Do I need to know how to sew?
Nope. That means Sewing 1 is for you 

Do I need my own machine?
It is preferred that you bring your own machine so that you can become familiar with how it works. If you do not have one there are industrial machines or home sewing machines available to use.

Who takes these classes?
Anyone. There is not an age too young or old to perfect your skill at design and sewing.

What if I have to miss a couple of classes?
You can set up a time to come in and catch up on your work.

Where are they held?
At Anastasia Chatzkas design studio space in Wicker Park. She works in a 1500Sqft loft space that was once a sewing factory in the early 1900�s. It still has the tin ceilings and sky lights.

Who is Anastasia Chatzka?
Anastasia Chatzka is a Chicago designer with a broad creative scope and a boundless interest in what garment design can be. As a designer, she conceives highly innovative and developed work that is not always in keeping with the tendencies of American fashion. While confident in her ability to design for anyone, she openly admits that she is her own ideal client: a person craving garments which are thoughtfully designed, full of color, and made with rich, mostly natural fibers.
Anastasia�s work is informed by many of the ideas that emerged during the 1960�s: individuality, freedom, and change. In the mid-1990�s, a twelve year old, Beatles-obsessed Anastasia had a hard time finding a pair of bell-bottoms at her local Detroit mall. Instead, she set to work at home to make a pair of her own, teaching herself to sew in the process, and beginning her career as a designer as a result. From that point on she continued to make clothes and experiment with the idea of making anything wearable. Using anything from twenty-five cent toys to pieces of shopping carts, Anastasia practiced innovation as the first rule of design. Later in high school she sought draping lessons from a tailor and began setting up at music venues during shows, selling what she�d made. After finishing high school, Anastasia attended several design schools and eventually graduated from the International Academy of Design in Chicago. Since then she has worked with some of the best and most innovative designers in the world, including Betsy Johnson and Anna Sui. In 2007, after returning to Chicago from Anna Sui in New York, Anastasia decided to concentrate solely on her own company, Anastasia Chatzka.
Anastasia draws upon her training and experiences to produce garments imbued with haute-couture craftsmanship and intelligence while remaining true to the street-style sensibilities of independence, authenticity, and non-conformity. About Sewing Classes

When do they start?
Class schedules are available by email or flyer. Contact the instructor through this ad. The schedule for the next session is published at the start of the current session.

How long are they?
Classes run for ten weeks. Each class is three hours long.
The student chooses the day on which they wish to come and that is their assigned space three hours a week for ten weeks. You choose the day and time you want to come to class and that window is yours for ten weeks.
Do I need to know how to sew?
For beginner's classes:No, not at all. We take you from knowing nothing (or next to nothing) to knowing how to read patterns, mark fabrics, and use proper techniques to finish an easy to average pattern.
For intermediate or advanced classes you should come in with a basic understanding of sewing machines, pattern terminology, and fabrics, we can take you to the next level of sewing and help you understand not just what to do, but why.
You need not have taken the past basic sewing classes to enroll.

Do I need my own machine?
No, the workroom at Tchad has three classroom machines which you may use while you are in class. You must reserve one when you register.

Who takes these classes?
Our demographic tends to skew younger, female, and professional. Our average age range is 25-40.

Because we have developed these classes for a more urban environment, we tend to steer away from denim vests and appliqué and use techniques that give you a more fashionable, wearable garment. These are not your gramma’s classes, although she would be more than welcome. We have had students as young as nine and as old as 80. Regardless of your demographic, the overriding philosophy is fashion and solid technique.

What is Tchad?
Tchad is a design studio, workroom, and atelier located in Chicago - on the border of Uptown and Lakeview at 4403 North Sheridan #203, 205, & 207. It was founded in 2000 by Tchad Elliott, a Chicago designer, who felt that there was a need for a more urban and sophisticated style of sewing instruction. He has been sewing since the age of eight and has spent the past nine years developing his skills in both clothing and interior construction and design techniques. Tchad has taught for five years at the Viking-Husqvarna Sewing Gallery in Chicago, and has recently finished rehabbing his workroom to accommodate students. Some recent work:

He has developed these classes over the past five years so that you can leave your classes at Tchad with a basic knowledge of construction as well as the confidence in your own skills to attempt more advanced projects.

How much are they?
Classes are $400.00 each.

Why are they $400.00?
The price of classes comes to $40.00 per class, or $13.33 per hour of instruction.

Our instructor, who gives private lessons, charges $25.00 per hour of instruction.

The same classes given privately (one on one) would be $750.00. By combining resources, five students are able to get the same classes for 47% less, saving $350.00 each, without compromising much in the information given or learned.

How many people are in each class?
In order to provide you with a comfortable and productive learning environment, we at Tchad are limiting the class size to six. We have found that this size allows you to interact with your instructor in an unhurried, productive way.

What if I have to miss a couple of classes?
Our instructor is quite flexible about missed classes. Students are welcome to make other arrangements because of emergencies, vacations, &c. We will do our best to accommodate you within the session.

What will we sew?
In the classes, you will sew a basic garment of your choice. Through an intitial instructional video online, before the class begins, your instructor will explain pattern sizes and brands as well as basic tools and preferences.

If you are an intermediate or advanced sewer, we will work on projects of your choice.

What will I learn?
A solid range of basic sewing knowledge. From patterns to fabrics to basic sewing techniques, you will leave this class with the knowledge to begin other projects without a cloud of doubt floating over your head.

We will also learn sewing machine basics: how to troubleshoot any mechanical problems you may have.

Where are they held?

In the workroom at Tchad, at the NE corner of Montrose and Sheridan.

Because you will be taking classes in a functioning sewing and fashion workroom, you will be getting a lot of hands-on experience with techniques and supplies.

How do I register?

What is the registration process?
The first step in the registration process is to decide which day and time you would like.
After you have emailed Tchad, you will then be sent a list of payment options.
When we have recieved payment, you will be sent an introduction that will walk you through the initial pre-class process.

How long will my space be held without payment?
We will hold your space for three days without payment or arrangements.

Is my class fee refundable?
Registration is limited to a maximum of 6 registered students per time slot. Due the small class sizes, no refunds will be provided in full or in part after a session begins.
Once classes have started, if there is an emergency or time issue, we will do our best to accommodate you, but refunds are not given once class starts.
All refunds must be claimed within a reasonable time period.

We recommend registering as soon as you decide. Classes tend to fill up fast, as they are popular and registrations are taken on a first-come first-served basis.
