Paladin is a staffing firm specializing in Marketing, Creative and Communications recruiting. www.paladinstaff.com. One of our Chicago clients, a B2B marketing staffing firm specializing in the financial services industry, has an immediate need for a direct-hire Account Director.
Location: Downtown Chicago
Salary: $70,000-$90,000/year, commensurate with experience
Requirements: Experience in the financial services space, specifically in working with portfolio managers and asset management.
The Account Director will ensure that client needs are being met by monitoring and guiding all account activities, and by maintaining an effective level of direct contact with clients. The account director bears final responsibility for the account's growth and profitability, and the development of the account coordinator. Reports directly to the Director of Client Services and/or the Managing Partners.
The right candidate will have a solid background in mid- to senior-level marketing positions and/or demonstrated superior performance as an account executive. Advanced verbal and written communications skills, analytical thinking, personal organization and interpersonal dynamics are critical. The account director must be a capable personnel manager, with team building skills and mentoring abilities. A clear understanding of today's marketing and advertising business and a keen sense of entrepreneurship are essential.
Responsibilities:
• Builds positive and stable client relationships, including managing budgets and all integrated marketing initiatives.
• Provides clients with clear access to the appropriate agency resources for their business.
• Drives the development of campaign strategies and recommends improvements.
• Leads and facilitates all client presentations and meetings.
• Reviews campaign conceptual directions to ensure strategic marketing objectives remain in focus.
• Reviews all media plans, public relations plans, creative strategies and executions before submission to clients.
• Reviews estimates, quotes and unquoted invoices to ensure budget requirements are met and profitability maintained.
• Seeks out new business opportunities within existing accounts and plays a leading role in their development.
• Ensures that financial management of the accounts meets agency standards.
• Leads in agency/client contract negotiations.
• Participates in Agency/Client Performance Plan reviews.
• Meets with account coordinators on a regular basis to review their activities.
• Evaluates account coordinators performance on at least an annual basis.
• Guides account coordinators in career and skill development.
