Point B Communications, a full-service boutique branding and marketing agency located in the River North neighborhood, is looking for a Senior Media Planner to join its staff. The Senior Media Planner is responsible for the planning, implementation, and tracking of media plans. S/he is expected to have an understanding of their assigned clients’ media business as well as the clients’ overall business and marketing objectives. The Senior Media Planner is expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media space (both traditional and non-traditional) and standard agency procedures. S/he must understand how to prioritize and delegate workload to the Media Buyer.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Media Planning and Execution
Day-to-day management of multiple smaller budget media plans; including oversight of buy recommendations, execution details, and budgets
Resourceful and creative research abilities
Assist account team in providing strategic and measurable solutions that meet client objectives and goals
Ensure all budget spending is on track and in line with client parameters
Write POVs and evaluate new media types/outlets
Negotiate partner contracts
Client and Internal Relationships
Work with account team to maintain performance and resolve and performance issues
Assist account team in advising multiple clients on best ways to integrate media into their advertising and marketing programs
Keep up with the latest trends in media
Inform client/team of new opportunities or issues
Participate and lead (if applicable) face-to-face client and vendor meetings
Fulfill client requests
Provide clients with negotiated and integrated marketing solutions
Strategic Thinking and Leadership
Develop analysis that leads to optimization recommendations and new media strategies
Work with senior management and autonomously to develop strategies and recommendations for a variety of media plans
Develop reports and recommendations based on advanced analytics
Oversee media buyer to manage time, assure projects are completed on time, and adhere to budget
Communication Skills
Express oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications
Write in a clear, compelling, and succinct manner
Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially
Constructively edit and review the writing of media documents (timelines, media focus, RFPs, plans, client memos, and correspondence from within and outside the agency)
Maintain communication with the client as needed
Develop media presentations and oversee preparation of media presentation elements
Experience/Knowledge Required
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of media planning experience
Deep knowledge of online media as well as traditional media
Strong analytical skills and the ability to relate results to client business objectives
Third-party ad server experience helpful, including deeper analytics
Advanced computer skills, especially Mac platform programs
