Position Description
Arabella Advisors seeks a highly motivated self-starter to support the firm’s marketing and business development activities nationally. This position will assist the firm with managing marketing campaigns, market research, prospect management and follow-up, proposal development, presentation development, and any other marketing or business development support activities requested by Arabella’s Managing Directors. This person will participate in business development meetings and networking events as needed. Additionally, this position will be responsible for coordinating the development, management, and distribution of marketing collateral. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to further develop their marketing and business development skills, while increasing their familiarity with the field of philanthropy and the nonprofit community. This position is based out of our Chicago, IL office, servicing staff nationally.
Responsibilities
Business Development
• Research and develop data for senior management on potential clients and new markets
• Coordinate processes internally for developing proposals and responding to RFPs
• Coordinate marketing communications with prospective clients and oversee the accuracy of updates of prospecting data in Salesforce.com
• Manage follow-up with prospects at the direction of senior management
• Develop, maintain and train staff on presentations/slide decks for meetings with prospects
• Attend business development meetings as necessary and appropriate
Marketing
• Lead the development, distribution and maintenance of marketing collateral (including web content) that highlight the firm’s expertise and abilities
• Develop, manage and execute the firm’s communications programs
• Coordinate special events for the firm
• Coordinate the firm’s participation and representation at industry events, conferences and exhibitions as appropriate
• Manage the firm’s marketing lists
• Manage and coordinate the firm’s e-marketing content, software and schedule
• Develop and maintain the firm’s contact database, including identification of best-available software
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Degrees in business, communications or marketing a plus
Experience
• Two plus years of working experience
• Experience in sales or marketing a plus
• Experience drafting proposals and responding to RFPs a plus
• Experience in philanthropy, nonprofit management, business and/or consulting a plus
Skills
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
• Strong MS-Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
• High degree of comfort with current electronic marketing technology, including databases
• High degree of skill with developing electronic presentations
• Ability to draft high quality written materials and correspondence
• Ability to work independently, and to function effectively as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage and coordinate communications across a team
• Experience handling multiple tasks
