Banking on Our Future (BOOF), Operation HOPE, Inc.�s premier classroom and interactive delivery system for financial instruction for youth in grades 4 through 12, was founded in April 1996. Using a growing network of trained HOPE Corps Members (Volunteers), BOOF provides inner-city youth with the tools necessary for taking control of their financial future. Specifically, BOOF instruction focuses on the history of money and banking, how to open and maintain a checking and savings account, and the importance of credit and investment in their lives. To date, Operation HOPE, Inc. has provided BOOF �hands on� instruction to over 420,000 youth across the country at no cost to local schools, government, or the community.

In January 2010, Operation HOPE embarks upon one of its largest initiatives in the history of the organization. We are setting out to educate 5 million youth (www.5MK.org) by the end of 2014 through our classroom and virtual program, BOOF.org. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
� Selling the program to local entities of all sorts to establish Banking on Our Future as the premier financial literacy delivery mechanism in the defined geographic area. This program is free to schools and community based organizations but its promotion and adoption requires a traditional sales cycle.
� Establishing and managing relationships with corporations, financial institutions, networking and alumni associations, universities, political, education, and community groups for the advancement of the Banking on Our Future program.

PIRG organizers, and the volunteers they recruit and train, research issues, build coalitions, work with the media, educate the public, and generate citizen support on issues ranging from poverty to environmental protection.

A typical day might include:

training volunteers to conduct an educational program;
meeting with a professor to plan a research project;
addressing the City Council about a state PIRG campaign they should support; and
alking with students about summer jobs in the grassroots campaign office you�ll help direct.

Qualifications:
Passion. Persistence. We�re looking for smart, motivated individuals with initiative and a strong commitment to protecting the public interest. We value experience with campus groups or student government, academic achievement, and outstanding verbal, writing and leadership skills. Most of all, we look for people who find a way to make a difference.

Salary & Training:
Recent college graduates earn $23,750 in their first year on staff. In addition, full-time staff can opt into our state health care coverage, are eligible for paid sick and vacation days, and can apply for our college loan assistance program. Our staff accrues two weeks of vacation by the end of their first year and three weeks by the end of their second year. Staff is also eligible to join our 401(k) program in their second year. Salary and benefits vary in California and New York.

The state PIRGs� staff training combines classroom study with hands-on field work.

Expected Goals and Objectives
Goal One: To link clients to affordable housing options by:

* Maintaining a housing database containing available market-rate housing.
* Providing clients with listings of potential housing options.
* Linking clients to homeless shelters, transitional or supportive housing programs, and other short-term housing options as needed.

PURPOSE:
To initiate, facilitate, and perform a variety of casework related functions pertaining to foster care. To perform all casework ensuring the safety, security, well-being, and permanency of the children assigned to their caseload.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides supervision of each child�s foster home through home visits, including clinical support, upholding policies and licensing standards, issues regarding care of the child in their home and monitoring and providing assistance in obtaining services.
2. Secures documentation from school, medical providers, and any other service provider to the child, and ensures all services are being adequately provided.
3. Acts as the leader of the team of service providers both within and outside of Little City Foundation in directing the care of the child and permanency goal.
4. Assesses case situations and makes recommendations regarding children on caseload. Makes recommendations to supervisor regarding critical decisions regarding placement, parent visitation, and permanency goal.
5. Prepares, implements, and evaluates the integrated assessment and service plan for all cases.
6. Attempts and maintains regular, ongoing contacts with and provides counsel and training for biological parents of children in the foster care program. Makes all efforts to establish a relationship with the biological family and assists the biological family in reaching reunification when applicable to the case. Makes all efforts to maintain a relationship between the child and his/her biological siblings.
7. Responsible for the upkeep of child�s files which includes obtaining consents from DCFS, monitoring and completing case notes and securing required documentation for assessment and provision of services to child, biological, and foster family.
8. Responsible for implementation and coordination of sibling and birth parents visits.
9. Assures that DCFS policies and procedures, and all applicable laws, rules, and policies are followed.
10. Writes reports, correspondence, and case summaries as indicated and necessary for
proper case documentation and service delivery.
11. Work cooperatively with other staff in Foster Care, Children�s Services, DCFS and collateral services.
12. Responsible for the facilitation of 6-month staffings as well as attendance in staff
meetings, committee meetings, supervision and trainings as required.
13. Represents the child�s best interest in juvenile court, provides accurate and thorough testimony during hearings and trials, and attends all court hearings with thorough knowledge of the case.
14. Visits the child as school at least twice per year, monitors the appropriateness of the school setting, and attends all IEPs.
15. Acts as a professional representative of Little City Foundation during all interactions internally and externally.
16. Available for crisis intervention during normal business hours.
17. Responsible for all safety activities in your workplace and immediately report all
accidents and safety hazards to your supervisor.
18. Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor�s degree in social work, or another human service related field such as psychology or counseling. Must be licensed in the state of Illinois as a Child Welfare Worker. Must be proficient in the use of a computer to complete all documentation. Experience working with children with special needs preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, turning, twisting, standing for extended periods, reaching, ability to perform CPR and ability to visually and audibly monitor participant(s) to ensure their safety, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Link Community Development (LCD) seeks an intern for Winter/Spring 2010 to work at LCD USA�s headquarters in Chicago and report to the Executive Director. Work will primarily be related to development and marketing. This will include working on planning our main fundraising event in April, writing and publishing external communications, social media marketing, donor prospect research, and strategic planning.

This would be an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in learning more about non-profit management and the international charity sector, as well as gaining leadership experience. Once proven capable, the individual will be given several high level responsibilities. Tasks will vary based on background and ability. This is a part-time and unpaid internship.

The internship will begin on January 18, 2010 and last 18 weeks. The individual is expected to work 15-20 hours per week. Occasional telecommunicating is an option (required to be in the office at least one day per week).

Basic Qualifications include:
� Experience with event planning and marketing
� Excellent verbal and written communication skills
� Interest in social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

Position Function:

As a member of the Supportive Services Team, the employment specialist assists youth with employment services. The trainer works within a philosophy of Positive Youth Development informed by tenets of the Sanctuary Model.
