Full-time Travel/Production/Scheduling Coordinator needed for scheduling of video production crews for video oral history interviews of African Americans across the country. Must have prior experience with the scheduling of video production crews and possess strong multi-tasking administrative, organizational, phone and database management skills. Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite, including FileMaker Pro, Excel, Word and Access as well as prior experience as a researcher. Must be a strong writer of business correspondence and biographies. Must be able to work individually and as part of a team. The HistoryMakers is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the creation of a video oral history archive of first person narratives of both well known and unsung African Americans. This is the largest repository of its kind in the United States and includes a unique speakers bureau, interactive website, library/archive, digital archive, educational programming, educational publishing, public programming and a TV and radio series. The HistoryMakers has its national headquarters in Chicago and regional offices in Atlanta and the Washington, D.C. area.
Desired skills:
• 4-5 years of customer service or travel agency experience.
• Professional voice and phone presence.
• Strong administrative skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Strong expertise in FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Office Suite including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Knowledge and experience with FileMaker Pro and Microsoft Access databases.
• Excellent file and desktop management skills.
• Ability to work 50-60 hours per week, evenings and weekends as needed.
• Prior experience with a start up a plus and the desire to work in a non-profit environment mandatory.

The HistoryMakers is a growing and dynamic 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating an unprecedented national video oral history archival institution recording the stories of both well known and unsung African American HistoryMakers. The goal over the next five years is to record at least 5000 oral history interviews and to expose this material to the public through strategic media, technology, academic and community partnerships.
