The Property Manager is responsible for the day-to-day on-site operation of the apartment buildings operated by Herron Enterprises. Responsible for service to the residents, supervision of other staff, and efficient operation of the buildings.
Will manage properties in scattered locations on Chicago's West side. Well maintained properties with several regulatory requirements, located in Austin, East and West Garfield as well as North Lawndale.

Maintains resident records to comply with appropriate affordale housing regulations. On a monthly basis prepares and delivers notices to residents as needed.

Oversees the timely preparation of apartments for rental, delegating tasks to and supervising the work of other property staff. Manages the leasing process from initial application to move-in, including orientation of applicats to the properties.

Follows and enforces all fair housing and local landlord and tenant laws and regulations. Markets the properties to ensure budget compliance and a positive community image of the properties. Ensures that the properties meets financial performance goals, reading and interpreting property accounting software reports.

Manages customer service request and ensures timely and satisfactory completion.


Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Training in property or real estate management or a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years of managerial or administrative experience. Professional training may substitute for experience.

Supervision, leadership, or community building experience required. Previous management and Tenant Pro experience strongly preferred.

Abilities: Effectively manage and solve problems, meet deadlines. Take direction from a supervisor. Data collection and analysis.

Maintain resident account receivable ledgers. Work in a collaborative manner as a member of a team. Relate professionally with vendors, residents, and co-workers. Communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Monitor financial statements and budgets and other reports generated from property management accounting software. Flexible to change in work plans. Maintain a professional personal appearance. Must have your own reliable car (with valid drivers license and insurance)in order to run errands and visit multiple locations, etc. Comprehend and manage regulatory requirements.

Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Exel, Outlook) and Teant Pro 7 SQL.
