Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights helps people living in poverty or danger improve their lives and realize their human rights. THE POSITION
Network Operations Manager:
Responsible for ongoing stability, functionality and usability of the network and server environment to ensure maximum productivity, reliability and utilization of the equipment in all offices. Responsible for the design, testing and documentation of network and server systems and processes. Install new, and maintains existing, hardware and software. Provide support to the user community on an as needed basis. Manages and supervises Network Administrator(s) and consultants performing work on network and server systems. Provides second level networking, server, application, and user support. Directly assists the Network Administrator(s) and Director of Information Technology in development, production, and operational activities within the Information Technology Department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. The Network Manager is required to work at multiple locations within the metropolitan area.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and two years experience; or high school diploma and four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Network certification a plus, i.e., MCSE, Network Plus, CCNA, etc.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have or being willing to acquire knowledge of FundWare; Exchange 2003/2007; SQL 2000; MS Office 2003/XP; Operating Systems software including Windows 2000/2003 Server and Linux; Backup Exec; and other software applications routinely used by Heartland Alliance.
Networking Skills: LAN/WAN, Cisco, TCP/IP, IIS/Apache, Active Directory, DNS. Recommended but not required, experience with MPLS, various WAN technologies, scripting.
