Systems Automation Manager

The company, based in Bolingbrook, Ill., received more than $40 million in funding from TPG Growth and TPG Biotechnology Partners to institutionalize work started by Cargill, Inc. and Materia, Inc. in 2004. 2008 sales approached $20 million, and are projected to scale to over $1 billion in the coming years directly addressing a $20 billion market.
Position Summary: This position is a 1099 contractor status, working 2 days a week to start. The Systems Automation Manager will focus on several specific tasks including: 1.) Additional module implementation for Great Plains ERP system; 2.) Sarbanes Oxley and audit support; 3.) Systems break-fix support; 4) Expanded e-commerce capability.
Elevance currently uses Great Plains for general ledger and all other accounting applications. We use FRx and Crystal Reports for reporting applications. As the company grows, we will be looking at using additional functionality and potentially other Great Plains or compatible modules to improve the efficiency of our systems. The successful individual will be able to actively and effectively interact with the Finance & Accounting team and the broader organization to support current module usage and assess, recommend and implement expanded systems capability.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
• Support current module usage
• Identify control issues and create a fit for purpose plan for addressing given the size of the company
• Identify and implement "quick hit" process improvements
• Act as the functional lead in implementation of financial systems and product upgrades
• Scope requirements as liaison among finance/business users and vendors
• Identify options, arrange demos and present findings
• Develop and execute test scripts
• Perform post-implementation troubleshooting
Primary Qualifications Include:
• Distinguished academic and professional careers – CPA desired
• Track record of Great Plains related financial and business systems implementations
• Experience defining/selecting software requirements and managing the systems implementation process
• e-Commerce experience desirable
• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting coupled with strong analytical capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Approximately 7 to 10 years of overall experience in related fields
