Job description:

The 3rd Shift (midnight start) position involves interacting and coordinating with clients, third party software vendors and escalating to internal team on-call engineers to evaluate and resolve issues that are reported by our customers. The role would include providing timely updates to clients while directly troubleshooting the issue or working with other partner support teams.

Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the Night Support Engineer will include:
• Being attentive to the needs of a customer and keeping them informed on the status of their inquiry on a regular basis.
• Assist clients in all technical/functional aspects relating to trading.
• Provide customer telephone support.
• Perform regular night checks
• Monitor system emails and manage issues that arise
• Document information and data helpful to other team members and clients.
• Research for information in knowledge bases and the internet.
• Complete internal training, as required.
• Understand, prioritize and drive resolution of issues through hands-on involvement and highly effective communication between responsible parties at the client site and management.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

• Trading Technologies experience
• Trading room support, order desk, ISV experience and/or some trading exposure
• Basic network knowledge of switches and routers
• Ability to troubleshoot basic network issues
• Understands the OSI model
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work on a team or in an individual setting.
• Self starter type of individual, willing to take on tasks and asks for help when needed
• Have ability to learn new technologies quickly

Desired:

• Experience with Linux Command Line (Suse, Redhat, CentOS, Gentoo, Ubuntu)
