Position Title: Windows Systems Engineer
Location: Chicago
Department: IT Operations Manager
Reports to: Windows Team Leader
Responsibilities
• Design, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of Windows-based client and server systems
• Architecting, deploying, and maintaining new systems that will help the business meet its goals and run more efficiently
• End-to-end management of a variety of systems including: email, electronic communications archiving, SAN, VMWare, Active Directory, and instant messaging
Requirements
• 4+ years of related experience as a Windows administrator
• Strong understanding of the fundamentals of TCP/IP networking, security, Windows platforms and Active Directory
• Experience setting up and administering a Windows Active Directory infrastructure, including core services such as DNS and DHCP
• Scripting experience (vbscript, PowerShell) is preferred
• Familiarity with the following is a plus: Exchange 2007, Office Communications Server 2007, Commvault Galaxy, Altiris, SharePoint 2007, VMWare, ITIL, MS SQL
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills with the ability to learn quickly
• Strong communication skills. Ability to document and justify decisions in writing as well as the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• A positive attitude with a focus on providing excellent service to internal clients
