Downtown Chicago based software development company, is actively seeking a LINUX ADMINISTRATOR to add to its growing staff. Our business includes the development of software and hardware technology used in kiosks currently deployed in Chicagoland and many other municipal settings.
The overall duties of the Linux Administrator are to assist in configuring, managing, and supporting a growing network infrastructure that is the backbone of both internal operations and remote locations.
Other tasks will include user management, disk storage allocation, and the occasional configuration of undocumented hardware. The admin will also support a team of programmers within a subversion-backed development environment.
Experience level:
2-5 years as a Linux or Unix Administrator
Required technical skills:
Knowledge of client-server networking, network protocols
Candidate should have CCNA or equivalent knowledge
Experience with managing 50+ remote hosts
Proficient with shell scripting; should be able to comprehend as well as contribute
Familiarity with Fedora Core or Redhat Linux distributions
Experience with Kickstart and PXE booting
