JOB SUMMARY<br>
The Database Administrator is Intermediate professional level role. This position supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, systems feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or sometimes as a project advisor. May coach more junior technical staff. Reports to Database or Application Manager.<br>
<br>
RESPONSIBILITIES<br>
    *  Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases.<br>
    * Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration.<br>
    * Performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements.<br>
    * This position optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.<br>
    * Responsible for all SOX audit inquiries related to databases.<br>
    * Assists with analysis and configuration of job scheduling software on an as needed basis.<br>
<br>
REQUIREMENTS<br>
    *  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.<br>
    * Typically has 2 to 4 years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment.<br>
    * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.<br>
    * Must have knowledge of SQL and DTS.<br>

Perform variety of engineering activities related to supporting delivery and management of a consistent, high quality workstation image for end-users.  Duties include design, development and support for the full life cycle of activities related to workstation configuration management, including: developing and maintaining workstation images, application packaging and delivery and patch updates to the workstation. <br>
<br>
Specific Job Duties:<br>
<br>
- Workstation Imaging.  Responsible for the development, support and maintenance of the workstation image(s) used to build laptops, desktops and virtual images throughout the firm.  Requires development of imaging scripts using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007, OSD and VM Ware technologies.<br>
<br>
- Workstation Patch Management.  Coordinate release of patches/critical updates and service packs using WSUS.<br>
<br>
- Workstation Updates.  Provide support for distribution of applications and other software updates to workstations and VDI images.<br>
<br>
- General Support.  Provide 3rd level end-user desktop support as it relates to the workstation image and/or application delivery.<br>
<br>
- Workstation Policies & Procedures.  Assist in establishing the standards for management of workstations, and document related policies and procedures to ensure consistency of implementation.<br>
<br>
- Skill building.  Share responsibility with supervisors and peers for developing individual technical skills through structured training, work experience, and dedicated self-study.<br>

- Regular, predictable, and timely attendance.  Must work well in a collaborative team environment, and be willing to work off-hours as needed.<br>

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:<br>
<br>
- 5 years of image build and deployment experience in a multi-platform environment using Microsoft technologies.<br>
<br>
- 5 years general experience with Microsoft Windows workstation and server operating systems, Active Directory, and DNS.<br>
<br>
- 3 years of experience using WSUS for patch management.<br>
<br>
- 3 years of technical windows installer packaging experience, using SMS / SCCM.<br>
<br>
- Proficient with several scripting languages, including VB Script, WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation), WiseScript and Windows command-line.<br>
<br>
- Excellent problem solving and analytical/technical troubleshooting skills.<br>
<br>
- Excellent customer service skills, effective in oral and written communications particularly in documenting work and communicating technical information to non-technical users. <br>
<br>
- Professional, organized, and flexible; able to work in a fast-paced environment.<br>
<br>
- Team player willing to work overtime occasionally during rollouts or to perform off-hours system maintenance tasks when required.<br>

- Experience with WindowsPE, PXE, TFTPboot and VM Ware a plus.<br>

- Solid foundation of knowledge of PC hardware configuration and Windows operating system.  A+, MCSA, MCSE, MCTS certifications desired, but not required.<br>
