Small all-female Curves fitness center in the West Loop and Logan Square NOW Hiring! Must be able to wear many hats! This job is NOT boring! Let me break down the "hats'" you MUST wear to work with us! This job is a resume builder! Here are the hats in NO particular order...
The Fun Entertainer: It would be great if you have experience in one of the following: dance teacher, aerobic instructor, public speaker, or anything in the performing arts like singing, acting, dancing...If you don't you MUST be a high energy, positive spaz-oid who acts like you had WAY too much caffeine! Must love to talk/start conversations! You MUST be fun, happy , smiley and chatty like Rachel Ray or Ellen DeGeneres! Must be able to mingle with the members and talk and keep things lively... "HAM IT UP!" This is required at 6am every day 5 days a week! Must be able to get on the floor with the members and do aerobic moves (we will teach you these moves) and shout out things like "Go ladies" "Push it" "You can do it" "Woo hoo" even on days you don't feel like it! Motivate, teach entertain and encourage! You will be asked to yell and be fun at our interview!
The Organized Manager: Previous managerial skills required. Must be able to make quick decisions that benefit the company regarding customers. You will NOT be managing actual money, bank accounts or staff. YOU WILL be managing customers and billing! You MUST be able to do administrative tasks like billing customers, cancellation of memberships and collecting on past due accounts. Must understand the art of getting information out of customers so YOU can better serve them and help the company grow. Must be highly adept at communicating; over-communication is encouraged. Must have good verbal/writing skills so you can communicate daily events to the boss.
The Shrewd Salesperson: Must be able to sell! This means listen to customers and be a spin doctor. Make it happen 8 out of 10 times! Be a deal maker! Must be a creative communicator, because all great sales people are. Must know what to say, when to say it, and how to say it to close the deal...if you don't know what I mean by this...then this is NOT the job for you.
OK, so now that you've read the 3 hats you need to wear...rate yourself on these - if you're not a 7 or more on a scale of 1-10 on ALL 3, then move on - this is NOT the job for you! I know most people really need the money right now and times are tough but seriously we WON'T hire you if you're not qualified and you'll waste your time which will take time away from you actually GETTING the job that IS right for you, hence being broke/job hunting for a longer amount of time!
The shifts needed are MON-FRI 6am-1pm!
The Pay: The pay is $9-$11.50 per hour (depending on experience) + commission! We need someone to work Monday- Friday 6am-1pm.
