I have a fully furnished second bedroom available for short stays (two months or less). It consists of a twin bed and some closet space. I currently use it as an office. The cost is $40/night, $200/week or $700/month. There is a two night minimum and two month maximum stay.

THIS ROOM IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE AUGUST 1 - 19.

The room is part of a two-bedroom condo. You will have access to a fully-equipped kitchen, wireless internet (use your own computer), dishwasher, etc. The bathroom will be shared. Clean linens and towels will be provided. Small or medium-sized house-trained dogs are allowed for an extra $5/night or $25/week (due to cleaning costs). No large dogs and no cats. No smoking.

The condo is located in the up-and-coming South Shore neighborhood, just south of Hyde Park and the University of Chicago. It is a relatively quiet, residential part of the city. The beach and lakeshore bike and walking path are only an 7-minute walk away. It is a 30-minute Metra ride to the Loop. 15-minute ride to Hyde Park/University of Chicago. The express bus will also get you to the Loop in 30-minutes or less during rush hours. A slower bus can get you to the Loop in 45-minutes during off hours and the weekends. If you have a car, there is plenty of street parking available. By car, you can get to the Loop in 15 - 20 minutes, as my place is located about 5 minutes from Lake Shore Drive.

Again, the room is available for short-term stays only. You should have specific business in Chicago. Conference attendees, hospital/medical residents and international visitors to Chicago are welcome! My house is convenient to downtown and many South side locations including University of Chicago, Mercy Hospital and McCormick Place.

Please do not inquire about stays for longer than two months. There are no open-ended stays. I am very friendly :), but I am not looking for a roommate.

Our apt. is a pretty big three bedroom, one roommate already moved out, the other basically lives with his girlfriend, so it's just us two. I'm a school teacher/freelance writer. My girlfriend is an art student/photographer/sculptor.

I'm offering my couch, which has a foldout bed. Right now it is in the living room, but I can pull it in an empty bedroom, if you want the privacy. I also can get an air mattress.

I live one block south of a liquor store, $3.50/six pack PBRs (it's cheap for Chicago). One block south of places to eat, drink, etc. The wacky tobaccy is ok at our spot. Gotta keep the DANK.

Hi!
My roommate/cousin is moving to California on Monday, which leaves a nice bedroom with a huge closet available in our modern garden apartment. We have laundry in unit, you would have your own bathroom, and there are stainless steel appliances (dishwasher, fridge, stove, microwave). There are wood floors throughout and a patio outside.
You will be living with me, a Wisconsin native that has Scandinavian roots, and my dog, a 19 lb schnauzer and Yorkshire terrier mix. I am very laid back, not the type to boss people around and leave notes for my roommates to clean something. I have lived with many different types of people, and as long as you are responsible, we should get along fine. I would like to live with someone that has a job where they are not coming home at 3 every morning. My dog is protective of me and even though he is small and harmless, he would bark and awake me when my cousin/roommate worked at a bar for a couple months, and I didn�t get my full amount of REM sleep, which I believe is necessary to function. (I watched a dateline special about this)
Smoking cigarettes is not allowed indoors, um no pets unless it is in an aquarium or cage, there is parking on the street as well as a spot in back for $50 a month, I park on the street with my car and never have a problem with parking.

I am subleasing my 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment from August 31, 2008 to July 31, 2009. Big living room space, big bedroom, storage locker in the basement, laundry in facility, and rent includes free wireless high speed internet access, water and gas, carpeting in living areas (minus kitchen and bathroom), ceiling fan in bedroom, frost-free refrigerator, and elevator access. There is a great intercom system so you can buzz in your guests from your apartment without having to go downstairs. There is also a 'package room' so packages can be delivered even when you are not home. Electricity is tenant's responsibility and we've never paid more than $40 a month during the summer with air conditioning blasting. We usually pay about $15 a month during fall and winter season (and that's when I leave my night light on every single night). Apartment is on the 12th floor, and has a great GREAT view of Lake Michigan.

The maintenance staff are great and friendly and take care of your problems right away. It's a 15 minute walk to the U Chicago campus and a 15 minute car ride to downtown Chicago. The Metra is 2.5 blocks away and many bus stops around the area. Grocery store and other restaurants are within a 3-4 block radius. We just signed a new lease but have to move to the burbs for personal reasons.
