Major publishing company is interviewing candidates for an internship in photography. Current students or recent photography graduates are encouraged to apply. Position requires flexibility and creativity. You will both assist and have your own assignments. Subject matter varies greatly and work can require fast turnaround, depending on a book's publication schedule. Ability to meet deadlines is key. Please know and have Photoshop on your computer and you will want to understand the basics of cataloging images and metatagging. You will need to have your own digital SLR equipment for photojournalistic work. While experience with studio lighting is a plus, you are not required to have your own studio or studio equipment.
Your photos will be among selections for illustrating college textbooks and websites. This is a great opportunity to get to know the publishing industry and will provide opportunities for your work to be published. Ability to start immediately is important. You will also need reliable transportation because many assignments will require mobility.
Please reply with a cover letter and your resume. Also, let us know how/where we can see samples of your work. We will contact you with further information if you need to ftp or mail a DVD. We're looking forward to seeing your work!
