INTERN TO ASSIST THEATER FILM/MARKETING DIRECTOR @ LAKESHORE THEATER
Currently seeking an intern to assist a film/marketing director, at Chicago’s most exciting, new comedy/multimedia/music venue - The Lakeshore Theater in Lakeview. Rated by Chicago Magazine as the best place to see comedy in Chicago and also by MySpace Comedy as the Venue of Choice in Chicago. We showcase alternative and mainstream comedy such as Janeane Garofalo, Doug Stanhope and Louis C.K. We also showcase music acts such as Tegan & Sarah, Yo La Tengo, Dan Deacon and Gavin DeGraw who are familiar faces at the Lakeshore. Programming also includes video, film, and various other performances.
This internship position is a great learning experience, as you assist a film/artistic director with day-to-day operations. You will help with the following responsibilities; talent-booking, artistic direction, video/film production and marketing.
You will also be assisting the director as he runs the Lakeshore Theater and takes a low budget independent comedy starring Andy Dick and Jeff Garlin to market. Additionally you will assist him as he prepares for future and television projects at the Lakeshore Theater. Ideal applicant possesses good communication / organizational skills and basic computer knowledge.
This is an unpaid internship, but expenses are covered. You must be able to work at least 2 days a week on a regular basis. Excellent opportunity for hands-on, resume and portfolio-expanding experience and networking. Great growth potential as position could transition to paid gig for ideal applicant. Accredited internships are available in conjunction with several local universities.
