Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, a nonprofit volunteer organization, is the nation’s educational library serving people who cannot effectively read standard print because of visual impairment, dyslexia, or other physical disability.
We are looking for volunteers to help in all phases of textbook production in our Loop studio, including book set-up, quality control, recording, and editing. Training is provided. We request that volunteers be willing to donate their time once a week (at least 1.5 hours) on an ongoing basis.
There is a special need for volunteers with backgrounds in science, math, medicine, foreign languages, finance and accounting, but all interested volunteers are welcome!
We are conveniently located near many train and bus stops, and we are open from 8:30am - 8:00pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:30am - 2:00pm on Fridays.
If you are interested, you may reply to this e-mail or call (312) 236-8715, x213.
