Calling all volunteers, early birds, book lovers, and bike enthusiasts! Nonprofit literacy organization Open Books (http://open-books.org) is helping staff the awesome annual event Bike the Drive (http://www.bikethedrive.org) on Sunday, May 25. AND WE NEED YOU!
If Open Books gets a group of 10 or more volunteers together to help as course marshals for this super-fun morning ride, Bike the Drive will make a monetary donation to our literacy programs -- and provide breakfast, shirts, and other thanks for you, the volunteers. The 411 is below. Please reply to sign up. Thanks so much! -- Erin Walter, Open Books literacy director
The volunteers would work from 4:00-10:15am. Depending where you would prefer to work, you would check in at one of three locations. Our volunteers on the south portion of the course check in at the Museum of Science and Industry at 4:00am. Our central volunteers check in at Butler Field (Columbus & Jackson) at 4:00am. Our north volunteers check in at Bryn Mawr at 4:00am. After check in they can walk or bike to their position, or we have a specific bus leaving at 4:30am that will take them to the volunteer location. Volunteers will get at t-shirt, coffee and some snacks at check-in, and we will provide them with food throughout the event. They can also get a free breakfast at our festival afterwards.
