About the Job
This is a contract position for a project manager for the set-up and execution of a website for an online retail store. The manager must be able to take initiative, be well-rounded, accountable, and a self-starter. This person will take responsibility to execute the website strategy, add content to the online catalog, build relationships with vendors, and manage the website. The Website Manager will be a team player and creative force responsible for the implementation of strategies, keyword analysis, creating and executing marketing campaigns, and maintaining performance. It is critical that he/she be spiritually aware and exemplify the vision and values of the company.
Responsibilities:
The Website Project Manager's daily responsibilities include:
- Maintain expectations and goals related to website performance.
- Edit/proof-read content for style, accuracy, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and search engine friendliness.
- Entering content and associated metadata into the content administration system.
- Entering skus for merchandise
- Overall governing of the websites including content, incoming links and conversion metrics.
- Negotiate with other site owners regarding link exchange.
- Web project management
- Set-up and management of relationships with vendors.
- Execute fulfillment from point of sale to delivery of product to customer.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate must have the following experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- 3+ years experience managing, assessing and editing professional web sites and applications.
- Be familiar with Internet advertising campaigns and marketing strategies.
- Extensive knowledge of traffic analysis and conversion metrics.
- Analytical skills and ability to produce spreadsheets in support of findings and reports.
- Strong creative writing, accurate proofing and editing skills.
- Knowledge of HTML and graphics software.
- Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines and make sound business decisions.
- Excellent organizational, time management and creative problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail and follow thru with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Experience with new media blogs, social bookmarking, etc. to implement into site strategy.
- Experience in web base catalogs and database management required.
- Background in web development and website maintenance.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and be self-directed and creative.
- Pricing negotiation with vendors.
