I am looking to contact someone in the photography department of at a museum in Germany and request that they photograph a work of art and send a digital photo of it to me (they do this as a service normally).
Unfortunately my emails have been bounced, so my only other method would be to phone them during their business hours and determine if they can perform this service for me or not, and
to do that I am thinking that I need to have someone German to assist with the translation.

What do you have to do?
The whole "gig" would be to make the phone calls and/or any followups to contact correct party in Germany, do some 'legwork' and assist with a couple of forms and postal mail.
After getting to the correct party, determine if they have the work of art and can perform this service (I would pay their fees for this service and postage, etc).
The problem is that there may be some "chasing" involved to find the correct party. I'd hope that whoever I hired to do this could take an initiative if roadblocks cropped up like "you need to call XXXX and he only works on mondays" or "We have it on loan to XXXX and they are located at XXXX" to find the correct party. I'd also hope that they were reasonably frugal with Long Distance (LD) expenses and methods (Which is why I may ask for receipts for them). There may be some minor back and forth between me and the museum, not negotiation, just trying to understand the hoops to jump through and options available.

You would be paid flat fee up front and expenses after they occur. Your deliverable would be..
1) Either the correct contact information for the museum and confirmation that they will do this with this piece of art
a couple of followups to help with the international transaction.

or
2) confirmation that the artwork is unavailable for this service (in a private collection, destroyed, undergoing restoration, in storage for 3 yrs, etc.)

Add a $25 bonus to you (above $50 and LD) upon receipt of the desired digital picture (it is available and I receive the CD/DVD from the museum). Note that this bonus is not fully under your control, but also depends on availability. Pay could be via paypal or cash. Hey, I know it's not much, but it's enough to cover a few new songs on an ipod, right?

BTW, I am not an art collector or anything like that. Basically I just want a poster/print of something that I cannot find. I am thinking best case if we got lucky, the whole thing could be wrapped up in a couple of hours, but it could drag out for a while too because of the holidays, not a lot of work, but just a lot of waiting for people to become available.

I have a project that involves doing developmental editing work on an advanced Chinese language learning text.

Desired qualifications:

This will involve editing with track changes and dialoguing with the client and author as the project develops. This is a second edition that will be reworked based on feedback and market research after release of the first edition.This would include work on the text, workbook and online tools for the text. Anticipated workload is 400-440 hours on the main text and about 27 hours on the workbook material. There are 10 lessons in each volume, and they usually will have the DE working in batches of 2-3 chapters at a time. Previous edition materials can be provided to review ahead if desired before committing to the project. Work would be ongoing and 20-30 hours per week first of the year through June 1. The text should be through the DE phase by March, then the workbook and online materials, finishing up in June 1. The production date for the text is January 2011. More details can be given upon inquiry. Pay is hourly DOE, most likely $30-40/hr.

I'm looking for a writer who can not only write short guides / ebooks, but who can also write short sales copy and ideally do at least basic web graphics (single sales page graphics -- nothing complex).

For instance, I might have you write a short guide on how to do guest blog posts on other blogs, and how you can find other blogs allowing you to do guest posts. I would provide you with some links and resources for your research in most cases. You would then write the guide, as well as write some sales copy (based on examples if you want) for my business to sell it to our clients. You'd also then put up a basic sales page website (graphics don't have to be fancy, but should look either very simple or professional -- just a simple single page website selling a product).

The topics would vary a lot. For instance, one guide might be on tricks you can teach parrots, while another guide might be on how to find blogs that you can do blog posts on or how to find websites that you can buy advertisements on.

This would be for ongoing work on a continuous basis if the first project goes well.

My name is Josh from Obviouschild Productions. I am an independent filmmaker looking for his next script/project. I am looking for talented people to work with. I already own all the necessary equipment to put together a great short film. I'm looking for great stories that are in the ballpark of 5-20 pages. I am NOT looking for anything in the sci-fi genre nor a dark action fast-paced flick. I want something with substance; something that induces emotion. Perhaps something that makes you smile, feel good, laugh out loud, or even shed a tear. Responding to me, you should not have delusions of grandeur of what I might do with your script in terms of bringing it to the masses. I am not looking to do this project for anything beyond the enjoyment of film-making (though of course anything beyond that would be bonus). If you enjoy the creative process that is making movies and would simply like to see your words come to fruition on the screen then we may make a good team. If you think I'm going to be the next Spielberg then please don't respond.

The way I'm thinking about this is in much the same way that a band might be formed. I have much of the equipment and the directing and editing eye. What I need is the other members of my band. Eventually we could work together often. Inevitably, I will need good talent, including people who know technical equipment and such. I know all the things, I just can't be the only one on the set that does. I would love to get a team of talented people passionate about film-making. Another director, someone who likes to do sound work and grip. A DP would go a long way to taking some of the pressure off of me so I can actually 'Direct' rather than set up lights, worry about sound, and so forth. In fact, I'm so in this for the fun, that if I decide that your idea, or your directing is better than mine, then I will step out of the way. Another thing to consider is that this is probably not a 'low budget film' = more accurately, this is closer to a 'no budget' film if you get my drift. So, unless your sister is a nurse at NorthWestern we probably aren't going to have access to a hospital. So, no elaborate sets are even possible. No helicopter rides, no car crashes, ect.

Depending on scope of script and how much it might cost to shoot (hopefully next to nothing), shooting could begin immediately. I'd love to roll in January.

I'm looking for a legitimate agent willing to read my finished and copywrited screenplay. Someone who has the capability of actually getting it in front of real, independent production companies for serious consideration.

I've been working on it for over ten years, and it's main character, Elvis Presley, still resonates and connects with millions upon millions of fans throughout the world over 30 years after his death. It's a PG 13, comic send up about "what really happened to Elvis", with a rather unconventional plot-line, and an outrageous ending.

I will be glad to forward a completed copy (PDF) of "Don't Be Cruel" to anyone interested in looking at it, but the main thrust of this post is to find an agent.
