Editorial intern for Chicago Internet news publication (Chicago)
An 8-year-old online business and technology news publication based in Chicago and covering the Midwest is seeking a new editorial intern for tremendous experience gain in a highly unique, fast-paced and high-growth environment.
We have had multiple editorial interns in the past. Each internship is a six-month slot. Various editorial interns have landed salaried jobs following tenure with us. The start date for this internship is in May 2008. The hours for this internship are 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities to potentially include writing daily news briefs, copyediting, transcribing interviews, distributing Q&As and writing bylined news stories. Press passes granted to area events. This slot reports to the publication's editor-in-chief.
An educational background in journalism and working in a deadline-oriented environment is required. Some copyediting experience required. Excellent writing skills required.
The company is based in Chicago/Lakeview. Owning your own laptop computer is preferred as some work can be done from a remote location. Approximately 15 to 20 hours required per week. Please submit resume, cover letter and clips.
