Sustainability Research Director for online portal and consulting (chicago)
We are seeking a key individual with the experience and leadership capabilities to head up our research department. We are creating various educational and consulting initiatives centered on sustainability best practice for buildings, corporations and municipalities.
Research Objectives:
1. Create a profound aggregation of green research and information
2. Establish numerous relationships with experts and organizations that can provide various content and knowledge to our growing repository
3. Generate research and content for our consulting group on green building, corporate and municipality strategies
4. Provide content for our online portal and other education initiatives
Skills and experience required:
1. Organizing and managing teams of multiple internal and external participants
2. Determining the optimum effective and efficient means to gather the most relevant information on many sub-topics of sustainability.
3. Communicating our mission in writing and verbally in order to motivate and persuade commitments to provide content.
4. Contacting large organizations and top experts in the field
5. Utilizing database management for the benefit of tracking and organizing information.
6. Having a strong commitment to and some working knowledge of sustainability or green building.

Additional Skills Appreciated But Not Prerequisite:
1. Utilizing all Web 2.0 methodology and online tools to maximize efforts
2. Writing and editing
3. Graphic designing or CMS programming
4. Consulting industry, delivering knowledge to corporations
5. Creating curriculum on various topics on sustainability
