PLEASE NOTE: This client is an ad agency that will only consider Proofreaders who have spent enough time working in this role within an ad agency. While proofreading skills are transferrable from all environments, they need someone who is familiar with the culture, demands and needs of a top notch ad agency studio. All others will not be considered.
Our client is a highly respected mainline agency in Chicago who is looking for a proofreader to add to their studio.
They are looking for someone who has at least 5 years of experience in a recognizable studio environment.
Per the hiring manager, the person that they hire needs to be "beyond spectacular".
You will be responsible for learning a proprietary online proofing system for particular Clients and should also be familiar with the traditional galley method/manual method of proofreading. You should also have experience proofing proofs prior to going to print.
All mediums: print, OOH, direct, interactive - there are no Client or tactic specific proofreaders in this studio.
The right personality or cultural fit: pro-active in raising questions or concerns - able to say "this is totally wrong" with tact. You should understand that this is not a 9-5 environment - in fact: this is a swing shift environment where you should be open to 9-5 or 11-7 - BUT even if you are on the 9-5 shift, if you need to stay until midnight, you should understand that this is expected.
