Galavanting is a newly launched online women's travel magazine and community.

Be a Galavanting Intern

We're looking for a couple of smart ladies to be our fabulous interns. Galavanting is a startup and could use some unpaid skilled labor. You're needing some work experience with a really cool emerging company for your emerging resume. It's a win, win.

If you're very smart, easy-going but driven to work hard, web-savvy, and hopefully funny, we want you. We need you to commit to at least one semester, or three months if you're out of college already.

In return, you'll gain work experience. You'll learn various aspects of running an online media operation from the glamorous to the tedious. Plus, you'll be able to hang out (via the magic of the internet) with the co-editors of Galavanting, and we'd like to think we're pretty fun to work with.

Because of the online nature of Galavanting, interns can be based anywhere in the world, as long as your grasp of English is impeccable, and you have consistent broadband internet access at your fingertips.

We're only looking for the most motivated individuals who can take an assignment (no matter how meanial or meaningful) and run with it. We like to give creative license, but we also need attention to detail and conscientious, kickass work. The ideal candidate will be able to take direction, but doesn't need a lot of hand-holding.

Job duties include:

* Assist in writing and editing copy for the website.
* Assist in editing and fact-checking articles submitted by our contributors.
* Seeking out and posting promotional links to Galavanting on relevant websites and blogs.
* Research and gather relevant press and blogger contacts.
* Assist in writing and distributing press and blogger releases.
* Research and write profiles on women-owned businesses.
* Research and connect with cool travel products useful to readers.
* Help arrange interviews, accommodation and other stuff in travel destinations for Galavanting video guide film shoots
* Various other tasks as assigned.

This job is:

* Web-based
* Unpaid
* Sometimes tedious (because it's web-based)
* Also gonna be fun

We need you:

* 10-15 hours per week
* Very flexible hours as long as the work is getting done

If you're interested, peruse the site first, then fill out the internship application form on our website. If we're interested, you'll hear from us within about two weeks. If you haven't heard from us by then, feel free to drop us a line via email to follow-up. If you don't hear back from us after that, pretend we got hit by a bus or something to spare yourself the feelings of rejection and know that you are probably a wonderful person, just not the best fit for us.
