Responsible for the management of the accounting function for the Central Region, a business made up of five metros with $450M in revenue. This individual will manage the month end close process in addition to financial reporting, and will uphold policies and procedures which strengthen our internal and financial controls.

Responsibilities:

•	Supervise and complete the monthly/quarterly close process ensuring accuracy and conformance with GAAP.

We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Riverwoods Illinois.<br>

As a Staff Accountant you will be in a key position within the General Accounting Department. You will primarily be responsible for the monthly closing process, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and analysis. In addition you will have the opportunity to handle various detailed assignments along with special projects as they arise. The successful candidate for this position will have knowledge of accounting systems preferably PeopleSoft, along with a solid understanding of GAAP.<br>

Job Responsibilities: <br>
<br>
•	Key responsibility for CCH intercompany process.<br>
•	Support 6 -10 internal and external client needs related to the intercompany process.<br>
•	Prepare all journal entries related to intercompany charges on a monthly basis directly to the general ledger system.<br>
•	Creates and runs reports including account detail, general ledgers, trial balances or other ad-hoc reports from PeopleSoft general ledger system.<br>
•	Consistently execute the role and responsibilities of account ownership for each assigned General Ledger account.<br>
•	Completes detailed analysis on a monthly basis including research regarding all unusual items in selected general ledger accounts.<br>
•	Prepares schedules and works with outside auditors during year-end.<br>
<br>
Education/Experience:<br>
<br>
•	BS degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent. <br>
•	1-2 years of general accounting or auditing experience.<br>
•	Ability to utilize PeopleSoft financial applications or other automated ledger system for processing and tracking financial data.<br>
•	CPA or progress towards CPA certificate would be beneficial.<br>
•	Strong PC skills especially with Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of PeopleSoft would be a very strong plus.<br>
•	Must be able to work hours as necessary to meet monthly, quarterly and yearly financial deadlines.<br>
•	Good communication and interpersonal skill.<br>
