I am seeking a study partner for the step 3 usmle exam. I am a US citizen and since May 2009 have graduated from St. Matthews School of Medicine located in the Cayman Islands. I have passed step 1, step 2 CS and CK and have applied for the 2010 match. I usually study at Skokie and Niles Public Libraries, OCC Des Plaines, and Northeastern University Library.

I have a good grasp of the step 2 management protocols, and just need to fill in the gaps so I know the complete management from beginning to end. I have followed a strict study strategy for step 2, which is most effective with a partner. I believe that active learning is the best way to do well with usmle. By active learning I mean; having independent study but combining discussions and drills on patient management.

My method of study is:

1. Kaplan step 3 qbank, repeat incorrects.
2. Assessment exam
3. Usmle Word qbank, repeat Incorrects
4. Assessment exam (my goal is: 2 assessment exams above 200)

A little bit about me. I am 26/M, I was born in Calcutta, India, but have lived with my family in Chicago since I was 5 years old. I completed high school in the Chicago land area, and attended UIC during my undergraduate years. I enjoy art, music, meditation, playing basketball, going out in the city with friends, and making new friends. I have a positive attitude toward life as well as toward these arduous exams and am a generally cheerful person.

I have posted this advertisement on craigslist when looking for a step 2 study partner. I met a Ross graduate and we ended up studying for 3 months and became very good friends. I will provide him as a reference if you like.

I know these days most people go swimming in the pool (which I also try to do and enjoy), but I still like to swim in the lake whenever I can, as that is how I have been doing it since a kid.

I am 40+ Asian, very talktive, and very very good swimmer. Hope someone is interested in this, we can have some fun during the summer.
