The Music Institute of Chicago is offering its first-ever Jazz Appreciation Class! The exciting, multimedia class will be held at its Winnetka Campus at 300 Green Bay Road in Winnetka.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Jazz, But Didn't Know Who to Ask
Wednesdays at 7pm, starting June 11
This course will provide an introduction to jazz music that focuses on exploring different periods and styles, understanding concepts, recognizing the roles of the various instruments, hearing and seeing recordings of the major artists, and learning about Chicago’s jazz scene today. This multi-media class will include guided listening, video of the legends in their prime, and in-class appearances by Chicago performers.
The class will be taught by Dr. Karl E. H. Seigfried, the internationally-acclaimed bassist & guitarist based in Chicago. Dr. Seigfried is known as a performer, composer, and educator in jazz, rock, and classical music.
