DESCRIPTION
The Language Programs Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day aspects of the life cycle of language programs, from initiation to wrap-up. The Coordinator interfaces with language learners, language trainers, client human resource contacts, and IOR team members to deliver outstanding language training. The Coordinator provides excellent administrative support to all participants in the language learning process.

This position reports directly to the Manager of Language Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all aspects of multiple language programs worldwide from initiation to completion:
o Conduct needs assessment intake with language learners.
o Recruit, interview and hire new language trainers. Negotiate rates when necessary.
o Manage and track program expense budgets. Approve and order educational supplements. Coordinate with accounting to invoice clients. Review and approve monthly trainer payments.
o Facilitate periodic evaluations of trainers and assessments of learner progress.
o Mediate conflicts that may arise between language trainers and participants. Propose solutions to service issues that arise. Escalate when appropriate and report any service issues to the Manager of Language Services.
o Assist in keeping language trainer contact information up to date and accurate in a central database.
o Create monthly and other incidental reports and summaries of language programs.

We have two young boys, aged 3 years and 18 months.
We are looking for someone to take care of our children 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) from 9-5pm. Some flexibility with time would be great, as we will occasionally get home from work late. Also, occasional availability on weekends required.

The ideal applicant will have a background in education, more ideally in speech. Our older son has had speech delays, but his progress has been wonderful. We are also looking for someone who speaks English as a first language. You should enjoy all different types of activities with kids, including arts and crafts, reading, playtime etc.

We do have 2 golden retrievers in our home (and a cat) so you need to be comfortable around animals, and not allergic. You need to drive, and have your own car. Do you like children? Mad Science of Northern Illinois is hiring instructors for after school science enrichment classes for elementary school children. These classes will be starting in January 2010.

You do NOT need to be a certified teacher, nor do you need to be a science major. You MUST:
- Have previous experience with groups of children in a formalized (paid or volunteer) setting. (being a parent does not count)
- Have an up-beat, child-friendly personality
- Have a functioning and reliable car
- Be a highly energetic and DYNAMIC individual with a desire to make learning fun.
- Have a valid drivers license and current proof of automobile insurance.

This is VERY part-time work.

As a Mad Science After School Instructor you will be responsible for facilitating a one-hour after-school science program with 1st-5th graders using a pre-set curriculum. Each session is a very high-energy, part entertainment, part education, hands-on class that meets for one-hour each week for 8-10 weeks starting in January 2010. We need people to teach between 2 and 5 one-hour classes per week. We train you in the curriculum, and provide all materials. Mad Science programs run year round.

The average after school instructor will work 2-5 classes per week, making $50-$120 per week. (Depending upon availability and experience.) Classes are generally between 2:00 and 5:00 pm.

Classes run in schools and community centers all across northern Cook and Lake County suburbs such as: Evanston, Wilmette, Arlington Heights, Gurnee, Round Lake, Highland Park, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Park Ridge and more.

Experience with word & excel required as well as the ability to do a variety of different tasks each day.
