All-Village Singers invites men and women to join our performing arts chorus. We are a not-for-profit group directed by a professional conductor who has her PhD in orchestral directing from Northwestern. We have been entertaining for 30 years on the North Shore. We offer two seasons: right now we are enjoying the holiday by caroling around the North Shore villages and singing in retirement and nursing homes. We sing a variety of seasonal and multi-religious songs. In March, we begin to rehearse for our Spring Show. Each year, we have a new theme for this show. We sing the best of the composers of our generation from Broadway to movies, from jazz to blues to folk. We perform this show on Sunday, June 12 and 13.
We do not audition, and our members run from those who are professional to those who can't read music, but the music we sing is not traditional. The arrangements are challenging and unusally. But no matter what your ability is, our director manages to teach us and get the very best out us so that our shows are beautifully presented and our sound is wonderful. We are accompanied by a piano, bass and drums. We use costumes and sing as a full chorus, and break up into small groups, trios, duets and solos.
If you want to have fun and express yourself through your voice, we are the group for you. Looking forward to meeting you.
