Dental experience is DESIRED, but not required. We are willing to train you if you are eager to learn!
We are currently looking to add the following to our team:
• Receptionist
o Full or Part time
• Clinical Assistant(s)
o Full time – working in BOTH orthodontics and pediatric dental: 30-40hrs
o Part time – working in either orthodontics or pediatric dental: 8-24hrs
Office Hours: M 11-7 ortho
T 9-5 pedo
Th 7-5 ortho/pedo
Fri 9-5 ortho/pedo
Sat 8-12 ortho/pedo(2 per month)
Under general supervision, an Orthodontic and Pediatric Dental Assistant provides quality patient care; assuring that all patients are treated professionally with respect and understanding. The assistant must be able to assist the Orthodontist and/or the Pediatric Dentist with treatment procedures in accordance with the following guidelines:
• Chair side assisting, preparing and maintaining dental instruments and instrument transfer.
• Delivering patient personal oral hygiene and general orthodontic/pediatric dental instructions
• Preparation of dental materials:
-Cements
-Impression material
-Taking and pouring impressions
-Instrument cleaning, sterilization, disinfection and re-circulation
-Operatory disinfection and basic patient prep set-up
-Bracket set-up and pre-selection of orthodontic bands and separator placement
• Taking dental intra oral, panoramic and cephalometric X-rays
• Taking intra and extra oral photographs
• Taking impressions and bite registrations
• Tooth preparation for bonding procedures:
-Coronal polishing
-Etching
-Sealants
• Wire removal and placement
• Fabrication of orthodontic retainers (essix and splints) helpful
• CPR and Coronal Polishing certifications required (will provide if not already obtained)
