It's the ghost of christmas past, not the grinch, Cal. This was a series of events which will persist forever in time or until things move forward or maybe love does just lie bleeding.

Well that's it, sorry but my postings are even far rarer than you think. Of course, you were wrong about so many things. I think you thought I wasn't good enough for you, or at least not good enough to warrant respect, nothing like being #2, or 3, and maybe that's why I wait for something greater than a chance encounter or a random posting. You can lie to yourself all you want about how I walked away but at least I didn't go far, and I waited, and I never turned my back on you, maybe ignored you for a moment but never turned my back and said goodbye, in such absolute terms too, thanks stranger, next time have the balls to come out shoot me down yourself and never did really hear from you again, tried contacting you but I think you were just busy, or something. So absolute

And so as the holiday draws near, I'm good with it all, I have a lot of moments when I think it could or could have worked but I think we have reached a point where neither is going to budge and I know you well enough to know that one, you won't come down from the high castle and two, I'll never be in the top ten.

And while I could tell you that I love you, maybe it's better to tell you that I never hated you, never worked to deliberately cause you pain, sometimes the only path is to go away and leave things to their natural course, you said go away and I did, you never said come back and a cupcake, if that was you, is not what I would call a sorry note.
