Haven Youth and Family Services in Wilmette is looking for a bright, energetic, creative, and enthusiastic JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL OUTREACH WORKER/CRISIS INTERVENTIONIST to provide outreach support services to Junior High students.
An undergraduate degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related field is preferred. A vehicle is also required.
Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reaching out to Junior High school students to provide informal counseling, support, advocacy, and prevention-oriented workshops.
- Taking an after hours on-call rotation for the Crisis Intervention Program, which provides crisis intervention and referral services.
- Participating in program development.
-Working with school and community personnel.
This is a part-time, entry-level position. Our office hours are generally Monday-Friday, 9:30-5, but the person chosen for this position must be committed to working Mon-Friday 11:00am-1:00pm (M-W-F) and 11:00am-5:00pm (TU-TH). Approximately 20hrs/week.
