I have an awesome room available in East Lakeview (read: corner of Broadway and Aldine) for $635 a month. It's a 2 bedroom/1 bath on the top floor of a 3 story courtyard building. It's one block away from the lake and underpass so it's awesome for people who love the lake front path. Here are a few specs about the place and me:

The lease starts on October 1st and it runs for 1 year. My current roommate (we'll call her K) is moving out and I love my place so much that I don't want to move! I don't care if you're male/female gay/straight but cleanliness is a must! Make your room as nasty as you want but common areas should be kept clean. No pets are allowed but I do manage to sneak the family cat into the apartment for the 2 weeks out of the year when my parents go out of town.

Your room specs:
I measured this morning that the bedroom is 11.5 feet by 12.5 feet. 10 foot ceilings. It does come in a vibrant red so if that's not your thing I can help you paint it when you move in (read: beer and paint party). K has a queen/king sized bed in there, so you can see how spacious it is. The closet runs the entire length of the room so storage goes further than the doors. A new shelving unit was put in last year. You also get a nifty ceiling light/fan. One wall is all closet, the opposite all windows. The windows face West. (My windows face East, but I can't see the lake to save the life of me. oh well). Note: both mine and K's room are identical save for the paint. Mine's blue!

Rest of the pad:
As you can see it's all hardwood floors (tile in kitchen/bath). Everything is included (heat/water/gas) except for electricity (about $20 bucks a month total). Kitchen is large and there's a small back porch off of it. No dishwasher. EVERY room has windows. Awesome. Note: No AC! Window units work great, and besides, it's only hot here 3 months out of the year anyway ... It gets toasty warm in winter (and I have a Christmas tree. Again, awesome.) There is a huge bike room and a huge (and clean!) laundry room on the first floor. You also get a storage unit (that I have nothing in except empty boxes) and of course half of our hall closet/medicine cabinet is yours for the taking.

Transportation:
One block away (on Lakeshore) there are 3 express busses to downtown. (135, 145, 146 ... if you must know). There's also a slow one (151). Less than a block away (on Aldine) there is another slow bus (36). I was never a bus girl but man is it faster than the red line these days. If you still love the red line, it's about 4 blocks away (that would be the Belmont stop on Halsted and Belmont). And of course, the ever loving cab. Very useful for drunk trips home from Wrigleyville.

Me:
I'm a 25 year old female graphic designer/animator. I work a 9-5er in the loop. In my spare time I have been known to run a marathon or two (or three). I am not a health nut. I love Chipotle (2 blocks away!) and Homemade Pizza (1/2 block away!). I also love to drink. I usually save this for the weekends, except for an extra special Thursday (and why not? After hours are the best!) I'm low-key, witty and social, but definitely love my alone time in my room. We do not have to be the best of buds but hey, I can always use another drinking/beach buddy. I'm hoping for someone with similar hours and personality. NO SMOKERS PLEASE. Even the weed. Sorry. Drama? Need not apply.

Wow, still with me? Here's an important note. Most of the furniture in the living room will be gone as most of it belongs to K. I have stuff in storage (because K had so much!) that I can bring out or if you have furniture then great. We'll work it out.
