POSITION TITLE: NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

SUMMARY:
This person will be responsible for ensuring in-house employee satisfaction by responding to support requests. Conduct first response problem determination, configuring, deploying, and maintaining network and standalone PC(s), laptop computers, networked printers, and other network devices. Manage day-today technical problems, documenting IT tasks and working on special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelors degree in computer sciences or related discipline; or the combination of
education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.
Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years Network Administrator experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide computer/network support relating to software and hardware problems.
Provide updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users.
Maintain trouble-log on computer support requests.
Maintain MIS database containing network, software, phone, peripheral and PC data.
Support and interact with users on a regular basis and maintain Help Desk.
Maintain and report fiscal inventory relating to network equipment each quarter.
Maintain and distribute supplies as needed by staff (toner cartridges, diskettes, etc.)
Provide for safekeeping of equipment and supplies.
Assist in research and gathering bid prices on equipment and supplies as needed.
Assist in backup procedure of network daily.
Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives.
Apply Operating System and application service patches to computers and servers.
Application updates and installations.
Connect users to networks and create accounts in Active Directory and MS Exchange email accounts.
Administer anti-virus systems.
Install appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.
Report major hardware problems to management for correction.
Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
Strong problem solving skills and inherent decision making ability is required. Experience with configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked Windows XP, Windows 2000 and 2003 servers, and/or laptop computers are a must. A qualified candidate will also be proficient with the installation and support of MS TCP/IP, Microsoft Office 2003 (including Access 2003) applications. Should have basic Microsoft Server background. Experience with MS SQL 2000 server, Sage MAS200, Goldmine or Crystal Reports is a plus.
