Our volunteers help improve the quality of our students’ lives, help enable them to participate better in their communities, and help them develop skills to be more independent and compete for better paying jobs.
Most tutors meet with their students at our offices in Lincoln Park. Some tutors meet with their students in other locations in Rogers Park and in downtown Chicago.
All training is provided at no cost.
This is a great opportunity to give back to your community and get involved with a fun and interesting group of volunteers.

Since 1973, the City of Evanston has presented the annual Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival. The festival takes place the first weekend in August on Evanston's stunning, historic lakefront at Dawes Park, Sheridan Road at Church St. The festival showcases live jazz and classical music, a silent art auction, and the popular Family Activity Area, including the Children's Craft Tent and ongoing family entertainment. The festival hosts a dozen restaurateurs serving a variety of culinary delights.
We are looking for help with: FAMILY CRAFT TENT - working with children to creat original craft pieces; SILENT AUCTION - loading in, setting up, watching bid sheet, and processing transactions; INFORMATION BOOTH - selling merch, folding shirts and answering questions; and FLOATERS - walking around helping artists in their booths. Any time from 9-6:30PM!!
